In THE LIES WE TELL OURSELVES: How to Face the Truth, Accept Yourself, and Create a Better Life (Seven Leaves Press; January 2017; $15.95 trade paper; ISBN: 978-0-9883788-8-9), Frederickson shows how acknowledging and owning the painful and shameful facts of our life leads to genuine change and profound peace. Finding a Love for Kenyan Children and a Mission to Build a School
Grand Rapids, Mich., June 2016 — At the age of 13, Riley Banks-Snyder traveled to Kenya where she sat in a classroom full of first and second graders sharing a single pencil. Riley realized these kids didn’t need matchbox cars or jump ropes. They needed pencils and paper.
As soon as her plane touched down in America, Riley knew she wanted to go back. At the age of 14, Riley started a non-profit, Generation Next, to help collect school supplies for Kenyan schools and returned the following year with 200 backpacks … [Continue reading...]

WHAT’S AT THE HEART OF A DECISION FOR PATIENTS WHO MAY NEED STENTS?
Understanding the right questions to ask about stents can have a meaningful impact on patient health

They instead limit their questions to economic or logistical matters, but what they should be asking is how quickly they can get back to their daily lives.
In fact, a recent Harris survey showed that most Americans have little information about stents until they develop CAD. So what are the other questions that patients should be
asking? What are the latest … [Continue reading...]
