Harlem Mother’s S.A.V.E (Stop Another Violent Ending), www.harlemmotherssave.org a Harlem based charity led by Ms. Jackie Rowe Adams seeking to end gun violence and bridge the gap between cop and community, is hosting their annual summer event entitled, “Play Street”.

BROOKLYN, NY, July 17, 2015: Today, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams joined Muslim Brooklynites in celebrating Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Last Thursday, he hosted an Iftar dinner in the courtroom of Brooklyn Borough Hall to break the daily Ramadan fast with over a hundred Muslim Brooklynites, including local religious leaders and ambassadors from Middle Eastern and Asian nations; over twenty-five area mosques and cultural organizations sponsored the celebration, which recognized a number of community members for their advocacy and support of issues affecting Muslim-Americans. Today, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams presented a group of local veterans, including representatives of the United War Veterans Council, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of America, Marine Corps League, and student veterans from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, with a battle-scarred Brooklyn flag carried into the Persian Gulf War, as part of a ceremony honoring the veteran community. The group will march with this flag down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan during America’s Parade, produced by the United War Veterans Council, on Veterans Day, taking place on Tuesday, November 11th.

On Tuesday at 2:00 PM, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will welcome the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) at a rally on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall. The Bolts will kick off their season on Wednesday with a home game at MCU Park against the Boston Brawlers. Borough President Adams will cheer on the borough’s first professional football team since 1944 and speak to the importance of sports to Brooklyn’s culture.
Joining Borough President Adams will be the team’s players, coaches, including Head Coach John Bock, FXFL Commissioner Brian Woods, Council Member Mark Treyger and Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President Carlo Scissura.

He will unveil a legislative push to incentivize New Yorkers to adopt pets from animal shelters or humane societies, as well as promote his Adopt-A-Pet Day this Saturday on Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza, taking place from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM, where shelter pets will be present and ready for adoption.

Nigro and members of the department’s citywide and borough leadership for a meet-and-greet. Adams proclaimed the month of May 2014 as “Safe Sleep Month”, just days ahead of Mother’s Day, at a press conference in the rotunda of Brooklyn Borough Hall, in order to alert new parents on the importance of proper care of their infants as well as tips to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In partnership with Delta Children, Borough President Adams announced that he is distributing 400 free cribs and play yards to families in need through local community boards, churches and non-profit organizations.
