It originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast day honoring one or more early saints named Valentinus, and is recognized as a significant cultural and commercial celebration in many regions around the world, although it is not a public holiday in any country.

For those of you in L.A., you may well already know just how COOL 100.3FM The Sound is. David Carradine turned me on to it in 2008. He said he found the best station on the air and had to share it with me. You will hear the story at the beginning of the Interview.
100.3 The Sound’s Community Service show is called “5900 Wilshire” and I had the pleasure of being Interviewed by Tina Mica, 5900 Wilshire’s host.
“5900 Wilshire” airs Sunday mornings from 7:30am to 8:00am on 100.3FM The Sound. During this program they explore non-profits making contributions to the communities in which … [Continue reading...]

Parkinson’s Patient and Advocate, Jo-Ann G, Talks about Why She Is Sharing Her Story
Consider this: In the time it takes you to sift through 30 minutes’ worth of email, at least 3 people will learn they have Parkinson’s disease (PD). And many are unprepared for their new reality. While most people recognize PD symptoms that impact movement, like slowness and tremors or stiffness, the disease also involves a range of non-motor symptoms that can significantly impact the lives of those affected.
Jo-Ann was diagnosed 16 years ago and only recently learned that symptoms like fatigue, difficulty sleeping or memory problems can be associated directly with PD. As an outspoken and active advocate for the PD community, Jo-Ann has made it her mission to educate others and serve as an example of the … [Continue reading...]
My name is Shane Bitney Crone. Just over a month ago, I posted a video on YouTube entitled, “It Could Happen to You.” You might have seen it. It was about the accidental death of my life partner, Tom Bridegroom, and more importantly what happened in the aftermath because we weren’t married (even though that was our dream). http://youtu.be/pR9gyloyOjM
Overwhelming response! Over 2.7 million people have watched my video and more than 20,000 people posted comments. And most importantly, the video is making a difference; so many have written to say that they now understand why marriage equality is so fundamentally right and how important it is to legally prepare for the unexpected. I have heard that our story is providing inspiration and hope.
And now we are making a film – … [Continue reading...]
