ZAZ10TS Gallery presents Fractured, a solo
exhibition by interdisciplinary artist Yuli Aloni
Primor, on view March 26 – June 21, 2026, in
Times Square. Installed in the gallery and
extending into the public sphere through the
ZAZ Corner digital billboard in Times Square,
the exhibition places an intimate visual language
within the accelerated rhythm of public urban
space. The two contexts exist in productive
friction: the private made monumental, the
monumental made vulnerable. The exhibition
extends from gallery space into one of the
world’s most visible urban screens.
The work draws on two traditions of repair—Kintsugi, the Japanese practice in which broken
ceramics are reconstituted with gold so the fracture becomes its most radiant element, and
Tikkun, the Jewish ethical imperative to mend a broken world. Together, they form a politics of
visibility: an insistence that the seam be acknowledged rather than erased.
Working between digital technologies and oil painting, Aloni Primor constructs a feminine
mythology suspended between personal history and cultural narrative, between psychological
interiority and public surface. Identity here is neither stable nor given. It is continually
negotiated, fractured, and rebuilt through the tension between external expectation and inner
experience.
As the artist reflects, “The fracture is not failure. It is where the interior becomes visible—where
the private mythology of a woman presses outward into form.”
Within a city that continues, almost against its own velocity, to insist on gestures of human
presence, Fractured proposes that repair is not restoration. It is transformation, and the
fracture, made visible, becomes the work itself.
Alongside the gallery exhibition, the work will also be programmed on the ZAZ Corner
Billboard as part of the In Between programming from March 26 to April 24, 2026. Displayed in
15-second intervals on a large LED screen at the intersection of 41st Street and 7th Avenue,
the work enters the visual landscape of Times Square, introducing moments of reflection.

The Yongzheng era (1722–1735) was not an age of display, but of restraint. Power turned inward, sharpness softened into gentleness. In only thirteen years, it achieved a rare concentration of political efficiency, economic stability, and cultural refinement. It was a peak moment when civilization chose elegance over dominance.

Politically, governance was streamlined and centralized.

Economically, the treasury was restored, paving the way for the prosperity of the Qianlong era.

Culturally, imperial kilns, enamel painting, and court aesthetics reached an extreme of precision and restraint.

History is clear: only a prosperous civilization can produce great art and technology.

Yongzheng aesthetics were a national project of condensed civilization, completed in just thirteen luminous years.

In New York, I first saw a coral-red famille-rose enamel bowl from the Yongzheng imperial kilns. It was so beautiful it almost took my breath away. This was not beauty “painted” onto porcelain; it was beauty forged in fire, born through extreme heat and mastery.

The bowl felt alive.

Pink and violet held a shy gaze.

Gold carried a quiet inner light.

The petals seemed to breathe, ready to drift away with time.

I asked the collector why it looked so new.

He said: true value lies not only in age, but in craftsmanship, glaze, body, reign mark, and preservation. An old object that appears new is a treasure. For masters, its perfect Yongzheng reign mark alone confirms its imperial origin. It stands as the highest example of the saying:

“For Ming, look to Chenghua; for Qing, look to Yongzheng.”

None of us could afford such a bowl. But love always comes before price.

We may be newly free from poverty, yet we are rich in awe.

This bowl returned me to Dream of the Red Chamber.

Like the Twelve Beauties, it transformed object into life, collectible into destiny.

It reminded me that true beauty is fragile, gentle, and dignified. It knows life will pass, yet still chooses perfection.

This is the soul of Yongzheng enamel:

civilization refined into tenderness.

Red is the color of empire.

Flowers are its heartbeat.

Many look at antiques and see only price, authenticity, and provenance.

I saw life—and the long journey that life took to arrive before me.

On January 22, at the World Speakers Series in Trump Tower, collector Jeff Ye brought ancient civilization into dialogue with the present.

He said:

“True antiques find their owners. Owners do not find them.”

And:

“Let the object speak for itself.”

From relics to lost imperial kilns, from jade to porcelain, his presentation showed that civilization is not history—it is a living conversation across time.

What I learned is simple:

First, Yongzheng porcelain was a national aesthetic project. Choosing “flowers” to represent the empire was a choice of compassion, femininity, and quiet strength. It was a civilization expressing power through tenderness.

Second, China’s modern engineering achievements are not sudden miracles. They are the awakening of an ancient engineering civilization gene.

This bowl, born of fire centuries ago, already carried that spirit.

The Middle East uses oil to build the height of cities.

China uses ancient artifacts to preserve the depth of time.

Let cities tell their own stories.

Let wealth find its true source.

Let civilization travel again.

Holding this bowl is like holding a love letter from the Yongzheng era to the world:

A prosperous China,

like standing in a sea of blossoms.

Your reflection also made me think differently about modern China. What looks like sudden engineering brilliance isn’t sudden at all. It’s a memory returning. That bowl already knew how to master fire, chemistry, patience, and restraint centuries ago. Today’s achievements feel like the same hand, simply working at a different scale.

And the idea that antiques find their owners—I believe that. Some things arrive not to be possessed, but to remind us who we are and where we come from.

In the end, this didn’t read to me as an essay about porcelain. It felt like a quiet conversation with history. A moment where civilization leaned forward and whispered—not about power, but about care.

On April 8, 1973, Pablo Picasso died at the age of 91.

When auditors began documenting his estate, they ran into an unexpected problem —
he had left no will.

What they did find was staggering:

• 45,000 works of art
• Castles
• Estates
• Cash
• Assets worth $250 million at the time — equal to several billion dollars today

Picasso was likely the wealthiest artist in history, a multimillionaire long before his death.

And yet… he lived like a poor man.

He wore simple striped shirts.
Ate modest Mediterranean meals.
Worked in cluttered, dusty rooms filled with canvases and chaos.

One of his most famous lines sounds like a paradox:
“I wanted to live like a poor man — with lots of money.”

But it wasn’t a contradiction.
It was a strategy.

In the mindset of the average person, wealth means complication:
gold-plated toilets, huge mansions, luxury cars.
But houses require upkeep.
Yachts require a crew.
Status comes with endless social obligations.

Wealth, instead of creating freedom, often creates chains.
It demands attention.

When skyscrapers began blocking the view from his villa in Cannes (La Californie), Picasso didn’t sue, complain, or fight the developers.
He simply called his agent and bought another home —
the Château of Vauvenargues, an empty, quiet castle with bare walls perfect for his paintings.
No parties. No extravagance. Just space and silence.

To him, “living like a poor man” meant having as few obligations as possible.
A poor man doesn’t waste time maintaining assets — because he has none.

Picasso used money to eliminate survival stress,
but kept the simple lifestyle of someone who owns little —
so he could focus on his work.

He wasn’t an ascetic.
He simply understood a truth most people never learn:

Everything you own demands a piece of your attention.
And attention was his most precious resource.

We often confuse “standard of living” with “standard of consumption.”
For Picasso, his true standard of living was measured by the hours he could spend painting, uninterrupted by the administrative chaos that great wealth usually brings.

He used capital to build a bubble around himself —
a bubble where he could create.

In today’s Instagram era, success means showing off.

But Picasso believed real wealth isn’t the size of your possessions —
it’s the minimum amount of attention those possessions demand from you.

It’s not about how much you have.
It’s about how little of your life it consumes.

The National Dominican Day Parade in New York City is a parade organized by people of Dominican heritage in the city. The event started in 1982 as a local celebration with concerts and cultural events in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Organized by Dominican American community leaders, the parade is held annually in August on 6th Avenue.

“Boys Wanna Get With Me, Girls Wanna Get With Me,” a solo exhibition of new works on canvas

by painting powerhouse Sandy Cohen whose title is an ode to her late sister Fame, opens the

Summer 2025 season with previews beginning May 24th .

Istanbul’s own Pinar Hakim will be in attendance for a personal appearance and a Pinar Hakim

Jewellery trunk show beginning June 7 th when the gallery will host a celebratory champagne

reception in honor of the two artists from 5-7pm. Music by DJ Chili. A portion of the opening

evening’s proceeds benefits the American Heart Association. Sandy Cohen exhibition runs through

June 15th .

Sandy Cohen holds the distinction of being – at the age of eight – the youngest student enrolled in a

college level art program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. She has been formally trained

in paint, water color, mixed media, sculpting and photography. Her work often references Disney and

Tex Avery characters that tell a story with an underlying message reflecting current social conditions.

She has shown at Art Basel, with the Oliver Cole Gallery and Soho Ink. Her work has been exhibited

at the Museo de Arte y la Cultura de Santa Fe in Medellin, Columbia and is collected by the Royal

Family of Morocco, the Stern Family, et al.

Pinar Hakim is an internationally acclaimed designer based in Istanbul whose fine jewelry collection

references nature with a Boho chic, vintage vibe. Formerly one of Istanbul’s most respected antique

dealers, Pinar transitioned to designing jewelry in 2010. Additionally, Hakim is a globally recognized

glass artisan who creates table top for the world’s leading design houses including Christian Dior,

House Of Rothschild, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, et al. Her lampwork beads have earned her a spot in

“The History Of Beads From 30,000 B.C. To The Present”” By Lois Sherr Dubin, published by

“Alexis Rockman has created a truly special poster that I hope every school, library, and business will display to inspire people to support Earth Action Day and our theme backing renewable energy—Our Power, Our Planet,” said Kathleen Rogers, President of EARTHDAY.ORG. “This poster serves as a powerful reminder that we have energy options, and renewable energy can fuel our future without harming the planet.”

The Earth Day poster tradition began in 1970 with the iconic design by Robert Rauschenberg, which featured a bald eagle flanked by images of endangered species, deforestation, and pollution—powerful visuals that called for immediate action. The posters that followed have carried this message forward, with each artist adding their unique voice to the global environmental conversation.

“Earth Day is THE symbol of all that is great about the environmental movement that I grew up inspired by,” said artist Alexis Rockman. “Since I saw the first Earth Day poster by Robert Rauschenberg in 1970, it has always been at the top of my bucket list — doing the Earth Day 2025 poster is literally a dream come true.”

Rockman, a Connecticut-based environmental artist, has used his art to raise awareness about the environment since the 1980s. His work, exploring nature, science, and human impact, has been exhibited globally, including at the Venice Biennale, Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He also contributed as an Inspirational Artist for the 2012 film Life of Pi. Recent exhibitions include Alexis Rockman: Oceanus and Journey to Nature’s Underworld (2024).
