In an era marked by political upheaval, cultural reckoning, and a global hunger for honesty, Young’s music is striking a deep chord. Rooted in blues-based rock and roll, his songs point in a shared lyrical direction — confronting reality from multiple angles — delivered with the raw edge, emotional weight, and soulful swagger reminiscent of the best music of the 1970s.

⸻

Music for a Moment the World Can Feel

As public discourse intensifies in 2026 — politically, socially, and emotionally — When the Truth Comes Out has emerged as a defining statement. Since the video’s release, listeners across platforms have echoed the same response again and again:

“This music tells the story of our times.”

The song’s message resonates not through slogans, but through emotional truth — acknowledging what many feel but struggle to articulate.

That same urgency carries throughout Young’s current body of work:

• “It’s a Shit Show” confronts modern chaos with grit, honesty, and dark humor.

• “Worried About the World” reflects a global, shared anxiety now impossible to ignore.

• “We’re All People” stands out as a powerful unifying anthem, already feeling destined to become a live-performance staple.

“These songs mark a defining chapter,” says Young. “Life is intense right now. People feel it everywhere. This music resonates because we’re all in it together — and everyone knows it.”

⸻

Cultural Timing & Growing Momentum

The cultural timing is unmistakable. As Bruce Springsteen’s, “Streets of Minneapolis” recently surged into the spotlight, conversations around truth, accountability, and social reckoning have taken center stage worldwide. Young’s music occupies that same emotional terrain — songs that reflect what people are thinking, feeling, and talking about right now.

There is growing belief that Young’s current body of work could open the door to meaningful collaborations with artists long associated with socially conscious rock.

⸻

Media-Ready & Performance-Driven

With his commanding stage presence, powerful vocals, and gritty rock-and-roll guitar sound, Young is positioned for major media moments — including late-night television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, all of which feature live bands and socially relevant music at their core.

⸻

Dynamic Storytelling & Artistic Range

Beyond music, Young is a renowned storyteller and creative force originally from Brooklyn, NY. After living in Minneapolis and Los Angeles for decades he has now returned to New York City.

Young has written three rock operas, four books, two audiobooks, is an award-winning painter (Best Booth, Art Basel Spectrum 2019), a public speaker, and the presenter of over 500 meditation events. He is also widely regarded as the world’s most recognized recorder player and plays two at one time in harmony.

In the early 1990s, his Los Angeles-based harp and flute duo Celestial Winds achieved the #1 selling independent album in Canadian history, selling over 100,000 albums independently. During that era his white puffy pirate shirt inspired the iconic Seinfeld episode.

⸻

A Legacy That Speaks for Itself

A visit to www.davidyoungblues.com reveals an artistic career few can rival. Beginning with his last $100 on Venice Beach, Young went on to record 70 albums, sell millions of records independently, and collaborate with some of the most legendary musicians in modern rock and blues.

Among them are Gregg Bissonette and Sean Hurley, Grammy winners for their work on Edgar Winter’s “Brother Johnny”, which won Best Contemporary Blues Album. Both are current or previous members of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band.

Other legendary musical collaborations include:

Clifford Carter, Tony Franklin, Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Ricky Peterson, Matt Abst, John Philip Shenale, Bebu Silvetti, Matt Fink, Curt Bisquera, Dan Hickey, Noah Levy, Scott Columbus, Joey Belladonna, Carl Canedy, Carmine Appice and Frankie Moreno.

⸻

As the world searches for music that reflects the intensity of the moment — and offers a path toward understanding — David Young is delivering songs that tell the truth clearly, boldly, and right on time.

Marcus Aurelius, the philosopher-emperor of Rome, wrote his private reflections in Meditations, offering timeless wisdom on living a meaningful life. Despite ruling one of history’s greatest empires, he grappled with anxiety, frustration, and the search for purpose. His insights reveal profound lessons most men understand only after years of struggle.

1. You Control Only Your Thoughts and Actions

“You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Most men waste years attempting to control circumstances beyond their influence—worrying about others’ opinions, market crashes, or political developments. Marcus understood that your only absolute authority is your own mind. Your response to events, not the events themselves, determines your experience. This distinction between what you can and can’t control is perhaps the most liberating realization a man can have.

2. Your Time is Limited — Stop Living for Tomorrow

“It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.” – Marcus Aurelius.

The tragedy isn’t that men die, but that they never truly live. They postpone joy and authentic connection until after the next promotion or retirement. Marcus, who faced death daily, recognized that deferring life is ultimate self-betrayal. Each moment is the only moment you possess. Those who learn this late find themselves surrounded by regrets for experiences never had.

3. Your Perception Creates Your Reality

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.” – Marcus Aurelius.

External events are neutral. A job loss or betrayal becomes painful only through your interpretation. This doesn’t mean denying genuine hardship, but understanding that between stimulus and response lies your power to choose meaning. Two men experience the same setback, yet one finds devastation, while the other discovers opportunity. Most men realize too late that they’ve been torturing themselves with their stories about reality, not reality itself.

4. Character Matters More Than Reputation

“I have often wondered how it is that every man loves himself more than all the rest of men, but yet sets less value on his own opinion of himself than on the opinion of others.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Men sacrifice integrity daily for others’ approval—taking soul-draining jobs, suppressing authentic beliefs, abandoning values to maintain a favorable image. Character is who you are when no one watches. Reputation is merely what others think they know. One provides genuine self-respect and is within your control. The other is a shadow you’ll never catch.

5. Anger and Resentment Poison Only You

“How much more grievous are the consequences of anger than the causes of it.” – Marcus Aurelius

Holding anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. The damage you inflict through sustained rage far exceeds whatever harm initially provoked you. When you harbor resentment, you grant your offender permanent residence in your mind. Forgiveness isn’t excusing bad behavior; it’s freeing yourself from carrying hatred. This lesson, learned too late, leaves men looking back on years wasted in anger that accomplished nothing.

6. Your Obstacles Are Your Opportunities

“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Every obstacle contains seeds of equivalent or greater benefit. The challenge blocking your path forces you to develop new capabilities or discover alternative routes. Marcus understood that obstacles aren’t the interruption to your path; they are the path. Men who grasp this early transform setbacks into stepping stones. Those who learn it late realize they spent years avoiding the very difficulties that could have forged their most significant growth.

7. Simplicity Brings Freedom

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” – Marcus Aurelius.

The emperor of Rome, surrounded by unimaginable wealth, understood that happiness requires very little. Modern men chase bigger houses, more impressive titles, fuller schedules. They mistake accumulation for achievement and busyness for importance. Marcus recognized that contentment springs from internal alignment, not external acquisition. Simplicity isn’t deprivation; it’s liberation from the tyranny of endless wanting.

8. Everyone is Fighting Their Own Battle

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly.”

“They are like this because they cannot distinguish good from evil, while I have recognized the nature of both, the good as beautiful and the bad as ugly, and the nature of the wrongdoer himself as akin to my own, not of the same blood or birth, but the same mind, possessing a share of the divine.”

“Therefore, I cannot be harmed by any of them, as no one can involve me in what is degrading. Nor can I be angry with my kinsman or hate him. For we were born for cooperation, like feet, like hands, like eyelids, like the rows of upper and lower teeth. To work against one another is unnatural. To feel anger at someone or turn one’s back on him—this is to work against him.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Marcus began many days acknowledging that he would encounter difficult people. Rather than being surprised, he prepared with compassion. Every person is fighting battles you know nothing about. This understanding doesn’t excuse poor behavior, but transforms your relationship with it. Judgment becomes curiosity. Frustration becomes empathy. Men who learn this late realize they wasted enormous energy taking things personally that were never about them.

9. Your Thoughts Become Your Life

“Our life is what our thoughts make it.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Life quality is determined by habitual thought quality. Marcus practiced rigorous mental discipline, knowing that unchecked thinking patterns create your experienced reality. A man who thinks in terms of scarcity perceives lack everywhere. One who trains their mind toward gratitude discovers abundance in even the simplest moments. Your thoughts are patterns you’ve reinforced through repetition. Most men don’t realize until late that they’ve been their own worst enemy through decades of toxic self-talk.

10. You Must Die to Ego to Truly Live

“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive — to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” – Marcus Aurelius.

The ego builds elaborate defenses, creating a false self that demands validation and fears criticism. Marcus, despite holding absolute power, practiced humility and gratitude. Surrendering your ego isn’t about losing yourself; it’s about finding yourself. When you stop defending your self-image, you become free, actually to live. This is perhaps the hardest lesson and the one most men learn last, if at all.

Conclusion

Marcus Aurelius left us a manual for practical living. His lessons aren’t difficult to understand intellectually, but require humility to accept and discipline to practice daily. These insights can’t be learned from books alone; they must be lived through experience. Yet awareness can save years of unnecessary suffering. The question isn’t whether you’ll encounter these lessons, but whether you’ll recognize them when they appear.

The layoff wave is still going strong. U.S.-based employers announced a staggering 257,616 job cuts in the first quarter of 2024, marking a notable uptick in workforce reductions compared to the same period last year.

Whether someone has lost their job in a round of layoffs, was fired ,can’t find a job, or is going through a personal painful experience, it can lead to a range of emotions from desperation, anxiety, sadness, and even anger.

No matter what setbacks someone faces, it becomes crucial to begin a plan for personal development, which can help you understand your values and strengths while also helping you align your realistic goals and emerge from whatever dark hole you may feel you are in.

Healer and teacher Tabitha Stitt had her own personal painful journey that led her to a desire to help others. When she was young she witnessed her mom’s struggles with addiction. It taught her how to recognize the pain and emerge from it stronger.

Tabita now guides people through her intuitive gifts & introspective approach – connecting with the energy around her in order to help others recognize their own personal power to transform their lives, identify their strengths and weaknesses and targets self-confidence and mindset. (She’s a licensed teacher/and healer)

Tabitha is available to talk about:
· How she followed her passion to find her own unique path
to success and fulfillment
· The way she helps others achieve their personal goals
· How she helps people empower each other & create space
for healing conversations
Anxious to hear if you agree Tabitha is a good fit for your show, so we can schedule her for an interview at your convenience.

INVOLUNTARY MOVEMENT DISORDER IMPACTS THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS

One in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness. Some people living with a mental health condition may also experience an involuntary movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia (TD). TD is a chronic condition, associated with taking certain mental health medicines (antipsychotics) to treat conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, or anxiety disorder. It is unlikely to improve without treatment.
Approximately 600,000 people in the U.S. may be affected by TD, yet only approximately 25% have been diagnosed. The condition is characterized by uncontrollable, abnormal, and repetitive movements often seen in the face, torso, limbs, and fingers or toes. It can impact patients socially, emotionally, and physically–these movements can cause worry, frustration, and self-consciousness. According to a survey of 350 patients with diagnosed or suspected TD, patients reported the condition moderately or extremely affected them in the following areas:

Ability to work: 46%

Ability to sleep: 53%

Ability to eat & drink: 35%

Despite the number of people impacted by the condition, many people are still unfamiliar with TD. However, for patients living with the condition, their families, and their care partners it’s important to know they’re not alone.

As of this year, 50 states and Washington, D.C. and various advocacy groups have recognized Tardive Dyskinesia Awareness Week as the first full week of May (May 1-7, 2022) to support people in the U.S. with TD. May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, and as efforts are underway to increase awareness and support for those impacted by mental health conditions, it’s important to remember those living with a mental illness and taking antipsychotics for a prolonged time may develop or already have TD.

Dr. Rakesh Jain, Clinical Professor Department of Psychiatry, Texas Tech University School of Medicine, Austin, TX, will be available to discuss the emotional, physical, and social impact of TD as well as talk about the condition’s signs and symptoms. Dr. Jain will also explain how critical TD Awareness Week is to those living with a mental health condition and TD.

Looking for a guest to bring hope to those who may be discouraged from fighting the good fight to help a family member through these debilitating diseases? Faith McDonald, author of On the Loving End of Crazy: Finding Hope and Help to Face Your Loved One’s Crippling Anxiety and Depression, is that guest!
This book offers hope and help to those who love someone who faces anxiety disorder and major depression. The story starts when Faith’s son Matt begins college; however, instead of attending classes and learning to thrive, he flounders and fails. His life becomes a series of arrests and reckless, self-destructive acts culminating in a suicide attempt. In the wake of his bewildering behavior, Faith worries that his life will never get back on track. She longs for her son to thrive. She aches, prays, and wonders how to intervene.
As Faith watches her beloved son self-destruct, she grapples with challenges that will resonate with readers:
• I feel helpless.
• I don’t know where to get the help I need.
• I’m embarrassed that we need help like this.
• I’m angry with my son.
• I feel furious with my husband–can’t he cope more competently?
• I’m worried that our family will fall apart.
• I feel misunderstood by my church friends and pastors.
How will Faith keep her namesake and family when anxiety disorder and depression masked by substance abuse threaten to destroy Matt’s life? With statistics in 2016 showing that 33% of college students felt so depressed that they found it difficult to function, and the number of students seeking help for anxiety has soared, it’s difficult to fathom.
However, as your audience journey’s along with Faith, they will learn that when life seems like a series of heart-wrenching disappointments, God is powerfully present. Matt’s journey is harrowing, but with faith, prayer, support of friends, and psychological help, he begins to thrive. Faith shares the essentials she learned to encourage anyone with a loved one who battles mental illness.
This story helps your audience to:
• Find Comfort–they don’t face the journey alone.
• Persist in seeking professional help for their loved ones.
• Find the courage to endure the dark days of the illness of their loved one.
• Stop blaming themselves or others for the dark days.
• Share their stories to fight stigma and shame.
• Ask for support from those around them.
I look forward to hearing your interview interest for Faith McDonald and On the Loving End of Crazy soon.
IN HANDS OF OTHERS

Hurricanes can be extremely unpredictable, as can be the recovery from the storms. Months have passed since Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, and nearly 200,000 families and businesses — 16% of the island — remain without power.

It is incumbent upon those living in areas at highest risk of being impacted by hurricanes to take storm preparations into their own hands. Taking small steps before the storm hits and knocks out your power can save a lot of headaches and heartache when it’s too late. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters.

Some important tips include stockpiling enough emergency supplies to last you, your loved ones and your pets for at least three days. The emergency kits should include bottled water, non-perishable food, prescription drugs you are taking, emergency radio and a DIY phone charger.

Experts also advice to keep handy changes of underwear, comfortable shoes and clean wool socks.

Our guest who will be available to discuss emergency planning methods will be Mark McGinnis, an authority in forensic meteorology and an expert in weather hazard planning and weather analysis. His depth of experience in weather preparedness as it relates to increasing safety and reducing associated losses is highly relevant to both home owners as well as local businesses.

Mark will provide tips on how to best prepare yourself for the coming hurricane season and avoid the troubles that can accompany these storms.

HEALTHY FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Stephen Sharp Shares Tips for Managing Stress, Anxiety
During the Holiday Season
Plus, Results from the College of Social Sciences Survey on Mental Health.
The holiday season brings a wide variety of guests. Some welcome, like friends and family, and others unwelcome, like stress, anxiety and depression. Most Americans – approximately 97 percent – believe that mental health issues are a serious problem in the United States. But according to a recent survey from College of Social Sciences, more than one-third of Americans who seek counseling for mental health issues experience barriers that make it difficult and sometimes, impossible, to receive services. Still, almost half of survey participants (42 percent) say they would be open to counseling for mental health issues.
On Thursday, December 11, Stephen Sharp is available for interviews to talk about common mental health issues and how to manage them throughout the holiday season. He will also discuss the results of the Social Sciences Mental Health Survey and tips for seeking help, as well as how to overcome barriers that may prevent receiving services. Sharp will also discuss careers in mental health related fields.
Suggested questions:
The holiday season can be a stressful time for some. What are some mental health issues that may arise?
What are some of the barriers to receiving mental health services?
The World Health Organization estimates 1 in 4 people will experience an episode of mental illness in their lifetime. Is the demand for services driving significant job growth in mental health related fields?
