This year, our Gala Tibetan Dinner for the Manjushree Orphanage Endowment Fund includes auctions (including live auctions for trips to Manjushree, Bhutan, Japan with Dr Kazuko), films on Manjushree and other attractions will be happening! I would like to take you to Himalaya because, for sure, just like me, you will be so moved to tears by these kids who seem to be naturally born with compassion and are growing up with it naturally. Although they have nothing, they have so much more than we do. I myself go there thinking that I am giving, but every time, I realize more learning and receiving more than giving. In 1998, the young Tibetan monk named Lama Thupten Phuntsok founded the Manjushree Orphanage with 17 orphaned Tibetan children and as now over 225 including destitute Indian children. Last year we had 17 graduated and amazingly all went to college with scholarship! I presented everyone an iPad, of course it was their first computer!! My wish is to open 9 such an Orphanage throughout the world, modeling Manjushree.
