The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc., in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, provides public tours of Bannerman Castle and Pollepel Island. Available tours consist of guided walking tours on the island with access either by passenger tour boat or as part of a guided kayak excursion. Tours depart from Beacon (kayak or passenger boat), Cold Spring (kayak), and Cornwall-on-Hudson (kayak). Reservations are required for all tours. Wear comfortable shoes as there is some rough terrain on the walking tours. Strollers cannot be accommodated. There is a 72-step climb from the dock to the start of the tour. Tours depart rain or shine.

Seasonal tours begin Sat April 30th run weekends through October 30th and depart at 11:00am from Beacon, NY. Bannerman Island Tour tickets are $35.00. Advance purchase required. THIRD SUNDAY MUSIC/PERFORMERS SELF-GUIDED TOURS
On the third Sunday of every month, The Bannerman Castle Trust presents a musical or theatrical performance as part of a special self-guided tour of the island. Along with hearing a wonderful band, singer or theatrical performer, an optional 20 minute history tour and a 15 minute hike to the summit are also offered. This is a great tour for photographers. It is also ideal for families with small children. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy our Third Sunday Music/Performers Tours. Acts for these tours will be announced. The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival returns with two powerhouse productions. Shakespeare’s MacBeth, will be re-imagined with an all female cast! July 23rd and 24th

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s Conservancy, a company of young actors, will perform a comedy on August 14. Title to be announced. Great family show.

Just Off Broadway in cooperation with the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, returns to Bannerman Island for another outstanding concert of a Broadway show featuring Broadway actors. Artistic director, Joyce Presutti, has wowed our audiences with her versions of Godspell, Brigadoon and Man of LaMancha. This year Joyce returns with Lerner and Lowe’s Camelot. Sept 17th & 18th.

Theatre on the Road presents Poe’s Last Mystery. It’s 1849, and Edgar Allan Poe has agreed to perform from his Tales of Mystery Poe’s Last Mystery. Frank Marquette portrays Edgar Allan Poe.
October 1 Tickets are $65 per show which includes cruise to and from the island on The Estuary Steward and a Self- Guided Tour of the Island.

The 13th Annual Nightwalk in New York to benefit Guiding Eyes for the Blind will take place October 13th at the schoolyard, Columbus Avenue and West 77nd Street.

Sign in is at 7 p.m.; the walk begins at 8 p.m.

Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB) is a non-profit organization that provides guide dogs and training for Blind people.  It costs GEB $45,000 to raise and train just one dog!

GEB provides their dogs at no cost to the blind person  and without any government funding.  Donations make it all possible.  Guiding Eyes for the Blind relies solely on contributions.

One hundred  percent of the donations go to Guiding Eyes for the Blind.  Of course, moral support alone cannot sustain a cause as worthy as GEB.  Be it small or large, every dollar matters.  Included is sponsor and donation information for you and your children.  You can also donate online at :  www.guidingeyes.org/nightwalk
