Coca-Cola made its official TikTok debut with the launch of the #ShareTheMagic challenge, an invitation for creators to showcase their personal expressions of the brand’s new “Real Magic” platform, which reminds people that magic lives in the unexpected moments of connection when people unite over what they have in common or embrace unique perspectives.

Coca-Cola partnered with multi-platinum global superstar, Khalid, whose newly released song, “Open,” is the soundtrack to the challenge, and Atlanta-based dancer, artist, and teenage TikTok star, Jalaiah Harmon, who choreographed the official dance for the challenge. In 2018, Jalaiah became a TikTok sensation when she created the “Renegade” dance.

In early December, Jalaiah returned to her former middle school in Fayetteville, GA., to share her Real Magic with the next generation of creators. She taught students her new “Open” dance and encourages them all to participate in the challenge by capturing their own expressions of Real Magic, set to Khalid’s news song, and using the #ShareTheMagic when they post.

VH1 voted Bob Anderson the number one celebrity impersonator in the world––an honor that was also given to him by People Magazine. In addition to his exacting impressions, he is a highly acclaimed singer in his own right. Anderson’s story reads like a classic novel. In 1973, he snuck into the Sahara’s Congo Room to watch a Nancy Sinatra rehearsal. During that rehearsal, the Everly Brothers (Nancy’s opening act) got into an argument and walked out. Enter 23-year-old Anderson, who told the musical conductor that he was a singer; with only a few hours until the start of the show and no opening act, Nancy Sinatra’s producer handed Anderson a mic and let him prove himself. He did: Anderson went on in place of the Everly Brothers and played the entire two-week engagement at the Sahara.
Shortly after that engagement, Anderson accompanied Nancy Sinatra to “The Merv Griffin Show,” his first appearance on national television, for which he received a standing ovation. Merv Griffin was impressed, and months later, after seeing him perform at the Ye Little Club in Beverly Hills, Griffin invited Anderson to his 50th birthday celebration. It was at Merv Griffin’s party where Anderson started singing and imitating the voices of well-known vocalists. The crowd loved it. Cary Grant was sitting on the floor by the piano, saying, “This is really amazing; I have never seen anything like this!”
Anderson soon became a regular on talk and variety shows, with more than 200 appearances on television networks and shows including “The Mike Douglas Show,” “The Merv Griffin Show,” “Late Night With David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson” and on Showtime and HBO. He has performed in more Las Vegas showrooms than just about anyone. When Las Vegas celebrated 50 years of entertainment, Bob Anderson was voted number 12, between Barbra Streisand and Ray Charles, on a list of Vegas’ all-time-favorite acts.
Anderson wrote and starred in the award-winning show, FRANK The Man The Music at The Palazzo Theater in Las Vegas. Within weeks of opening, FRANK became the talk of the town and the must-see show. The running theme and spirit of every review was, “I saw Frank Sinatra the other night. I don’t care if it was Bob Anderson–I saw Frank Sinatra the other night.”

The Award pays tribute to an Individual whose accomplishments transcend the entertainment industry by positively redefining the very culture we live in. Bennett joins superstars Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Douglas Fairbanks, Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra as the sixth Entertainment Icon Award recipient since the Friars launched in 1904.

One of the most respected talents in entertainment, no one else in popular American music has recorded for so long and at such a high level of excellence as Tony Bennett. Bennett has received 18 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also one of a handful of artists to have new albums charting in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now the first two decades of the 21st century. His contribution to the American Songbook has included such chart toppers as Rags to Riches, Who Can I Turn To (WhenNobody Needs Me) and his signature, I Left My Heart In San Francisco. He is also an accomplished painter and author.

“I have enjoyed being associated with the Friars Club over the years and it is an absolute thrill to be receiving the Icon Award this year. I have so many wonderful memories of events I attended at the Friars and I look forward to the evening in June, “ says Tony Bennett.

Throughout his career, Bennett has been a driving force behind several humanitarian causes. He has raised millions of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes

Foundation, which established a research fund in his name. His original paintings each year grace the cover of the American Cancer Society’s annual holiday greeting cards with proceeds earmarked for cancer research. Active in environmental concerns and social justice, he marched with Dr. Martin Luther King in the historical Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights movement and the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta bestowed upon him their Salute to Greatness Award for his efforts in fighting racial discrimination. With his wife Susan, they established EXPLORING THE ARTS, to support arts education in public high schools and founded with the NYC Department of Education, Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Tony’s hometown of Astoria, Queens. EXPLORING THE ARTS supports and partners with 23 public art high schools in New York City and Los Angeles.

The Friars Icon Award recognizes Bennett’s achievements, both professionally and philanthropically, as Friars Club Abbot Jerry Lewis notes, “The Friars are proud to acknowledge all that Tony Bennett has accomplished throughout his incredibly successful career. And we are thrilled that 50 of those years have been as a member of our legendary fraternal family. His invaluable contributions to entertainment and the arts, along with his tireless humanitarian efforts, have earned him our coveted Icon Award.”

Lewis added, “As if his stellar career wasn’t enough, that fact that it was our own Friar Bob Hope who suggested he change his name from Anthony Dominick Benedetto to Tony Bennett, means that it was only a matter of time that we’d find a way to unite the two Friar Icons for all time.”

Danny Aiello, the Academy Award nominated actor and singer whose performances in more than 80 films have endeared him to audiences worldwide is releasing a holiday CD of traditional favorites entitled My Christmas Song for You. This is the second studio recording for the critically acclaimed entertainer who The New York Times says “has the bounce of his idols Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra and Louis Prima, and the throaty lyricism of another idol, Tony Bennett.”

My Christmas Song for You introduces some holiday classics with new flair including “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, “The Christmas Song” and “Winter Wonderland” alongside some of Danny’s favorites including “The Bells of St. Mary’s”, “Pocketful of Miracles” and “Silent Night”. The 15 song CD also includes Danny’s own personal “Night before Christmas” story and a very poignant tribute to his son Danny III who tragically lost his life to pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

Produced by Joe Geary and Danny Aiello, and mixed by Geary and Mike Ferretti, this is Aiello’s third release. He made his recording debut in 2004 with I Just Wanted to Hear the Words, a collection of traditional standards. That album charted #4 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart and received high marks from critics coast to coast including the Los Angeles Times; “His voice warm and amiable, his phrasing easygoing and conversational, his singing revealed influences from his numerous idols-Bobby Darin in particular…but as with his acting, Aiello’s singing at its core was far more than an accumulation of influences. It was a pure manifestation, instead of his own rich persona, of the abundant life experience he brings to his art.”

Aiello always said he wanted the opportunity to work in the studio with talented musicians on songs he loves. And after having the opportunity to do that in 2004, he took his show and eight piece band he affectionately calls Joe Geary and the Guys on the road.
