Multi-Platinum Global Superstar Khalid

Coca-Cola made its official TikTok debut with the launch of the #ShareTheMagic challenge, an invitation for creators to showcase their personal expressions of the brand’s new “Real Magic” platform, which reminds people that magic lives in the unexpected moments of connection when people unite over what they have in common or embrace unique perspectives.

Coca-Cola partnered with multi-platinum global superstar, Khalid, whose newly released song, “Open,” is the soundtrack to the challenge, and Atlanta-based dancer, artist, and teenage TikTok star, Jalaiah Harmon, who choreographed the official dance for the challenge. In 2018, Jalaiah became a TikTok sensation when she created the “Renegade” dance.

In early December, Jalaiah returned to her former middle school in Fayetteville, GA., to share her Real Magic with the next generation of creators. She taught students her new “Open” dance and encourages them all to participate in the challenge by capturing their own expressions of Real Magic, set to Khalid’s news song, and using the #ShareTheMagic when they post.

Hosted by Billy Mitchell, Apollo Theater tour director, festivities include picture-taking with Santa Claus, prize giveaways, and performances Refining Faith and Acapella Soul. The legendary Apollo Theater lights up this holiday season with the Apollo Amateur Night Holiday Special, the 4th annual event under its signature program Amateur Night, showcasing recent winners of the show’s “Apollo Stars of Tomorrow” category. Tow hundred and fifty students were selected as scholarship finalists from a field of more than 2,100 semifinalists (and 87,000 + original applicants) by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation based on academic excellence, school, and community extracurricular activities. The 250 high school seniors were selected from 26,000 high schools nationwide to compete for the cash scholarships from the Coca-Cola Scolars Foundation. On April 12, the finalists traveled to Atlanta, the headquarters for The Coca-Cola Company, to compete for 50 four-year college scholarships of $20,00 and 200 four-year scholarships of $10,000. Over the four-day period, the finalists interviewed with a National Selection Committee, toured Atlanta landmarks, went to an Atlanta Braves game, met with formere Coca-Cola Scholars, and participated in a range of activities including a community service project. Additionally, the 2007 Class of Coca-Cola Scholars will be recognized at a banquet hosted by Coca-Cola, educators, local dignitaries, and friends of the Scholars Foundation.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation is one of the most recognized and respected corporate-sponsored scholarships in America. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation was created in 1986 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola and to establish a legacy for the education of tomorrows leader through college scholarships.
