Why
The events surrounding the US withdrawal from Afghanistan have been heartbreaking, and the unimaginable suffering experienced by the Afghani people as result of this has motivated us to help in any way we can. While much of the subsequent activity in the area has involved assisting people flee the country, we believe there is a significant need to provide assistance to the millions of those who have been forced to remain. Our mission is to provide funding for the construction of fresh water wells within the many small villages located throughout the country that do not enjoy this basic necessity of everyday life. Those of us who live in the more developed nations take fresh running water for granted. However, as hard as it may be to believe, many of the smaller villages in Afghanistan simply do not have ready access to fresh running water for normal everyday drinking and sanitary purposes.
Since 2017, Farzana’s family has provided funding for more than thirty-five of these fresh water wells in the area surrounding her birth city of Herat, located in the Northwestern part of the country near their border with Iran, where she spent the first nine years of her life. This has enabled families living in this area to enjoy this basic necessity more readily. While each of these wells provides water to literally hundreds of families, there is a great need to construct many more of them to satisfy the substantially greater requirements of these people. Those that do not have a fresh water well in their village must frequently travel great distances by foot and physically carry back very heavy containers of water for their families. An undertaking of this nature can cover distances of several miles and take many hours during the day, a great deal of time and effort that could otherwise be used for more productive endeavors in the further development of their society. As a mother of three, Farzana understands the difficulties and worry over children that a parent experiences under normal conditions, notwithstanding an untenable environment that may exist without basic necessities such as water.

Mayor Euille began his business career as an accountant with an Alexandria construction company in 1972, and within eight years, he advanced to Vice President/Controller, ultimately having responsibility for all contracting, financial and administrative functions. In 1987, he formed WM. D. Euille & Associates, a construction services firm, specializing in federal government contracts.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Mayor Euille graduated from T.C. Williams High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in 1972.
The Mayor is active in community affairs in Alexandria and Washington, DC. His dedicated involvement includes the William D. Euille Foundation, which he founded in 1994; the Alexandria Boys and Girls Club; the American Heart Association; 1998-2000 Chairman of the Alexandria United Way Campaign; INOVA Hospital Health System Board; Hopkins House Association; 2001 Chairman of the NOVA Urban League Board of Directors; Alexandria Community Trust; The Alexandria Rotary Club; and the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria. He is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Alexandria.
He has also been active in business and construction industry organizations such as the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; the US Chamber of Commerce; National Association of Minority Contractors; Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc; and the NOVA Building Industry Association.
Mayor Euille has received many major awards and honors, such as the 1994 Entrepreneur of the Year from the Virginia NAACP (The Mayor was the inaugural winner of this award); Who’s Who in the East; Who’s Who in America; 1995 Community Service Award from the Hopkins House Association; Outstanding Young Men of America Award; 1996 Blue Chip Award from the US Chamber of Commerce; the 1996 Entrepreneur of the Year from the Washington Post and Ernst & Young, LLP; the 1996 Small Business Person of the Year from the US Small Business Administration; and community service awards from the Alexandria NAACP (1996), Northern Virginia Urban League, Inc. (1997), Alexandria Chamber of Commerce (1997), and the Alexandria Sportsman Club (1998); Philanthropist of the Year 2000 from the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; SBA’s Graduate of the Year Award in 2000; Education Association of Alexandria’s “Whole Village Award” (2001); and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year (2001), and the 2016 Man of the Year Award from Nu Xi Zeta Sorority, Distinguished Service award (2016), from Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association; Lifetime Achievement Award, from The Alexandria Democratic Committee; and Rotary International Community Caring Award (2016).
Mayor Euille was elected to a three-year term on the Alexandria City Council in May, 1994. He was re-elected in May, 1997 (Vice Mayor) and in May, 2000. He was elected the City’s first African-American Mayor in May, 2003 and was re-elected Mayor in May, 2006, 2009 and in November 2012. He served on the Board of Directors for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority; the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), and the Virginia Econimic Development Partnership. He is Past Chairman of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) and Past President of the Virginia Transit Authority (VTA). and past Chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG), and past President of the Virginia Municipal League (VML); Past member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and National League of Cities (NLC).

Kris Krohn, https://www.guildgreenegallery.com/gallery is a New York based artist and gallery owner with a background in architecture and design. Born in Portland, Oregon, he became interested in construction and creating at an early age. Later on he studied arcituctural rendering and fine art.

When he moved to New York City at age 23, Krohn worked in the galleries of Leo Castelli, Marian Goodman, and Sperone Westwater. After five years of gallery work, Krohn took up a career in design and construction of high-end interiors in Manhattan. As his interest in painting was growing, he accompanied his construction work with traditional oil painting and drawing as a student at the Art Students League for two years.

In 1998 Krohn bought the old Bristol Meyers building in Brooklyn. In 2013 he redesigned and renovated the street level business space, and the Guild Greene Gallery was opened in December of 2013.

Daryl Hall’s innovative performance show will continue on Viacom Media Networks’ high-definition music channel with new episodes coming through 2014

Live from Daryl’s House, Daryl Hall’s critically acclaimed, award-winning performance series has renewed its agreement with Viacom Media Networks’ high-definition music channel Palladia, and will immediately commence producing new episodes, adding to the more than 60 already in the archives. Those shows will start debuting in early 2014 and will continue to premiere on www.lfdh.com, where previous installments will be archived.

“I’m thrilled to be able to start producing these new shows for our ever-widening audience, after renewing our relationship with Palladia,” says Daryl. “A day doesn’t go by that I don’t hear from fans about how much they love the show, and everyone knows how much I enjoy doing it. Believe me when I tell you, the best is yet to come.”

The show is a joint venture between Hall’s Good Cop Bad Cop Productions and Palladia. Executive producers for the show include Hall along with Daryl Hall and John Oates manager, Jonathan Wolfson. New guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

A artist biography is an attempt to offer the reader an opportunity to discover a musical environment, an atmosphere, the songwriter’s inner being, personality, his emotions and inspiration, that which emanates from his creativity. His musical journey.

For some it begins early in life and takes years or what seems like a lifetime to surge. John Seeger was definitely born a musician. Learning, practicing and mastering guitar was as much an everyday occupation to him as speaking Japanese and Spanish fluently, obtaining his black belt in karate, creating and building his successful NYC-based construction company, raising his 19 year old daughter and tending to his home and family. It may have seemed at times, even to John, that music was just another one of his passions and thirsts. Except that this one was impossible to quench.

John sets the bar high in every aspect of his life, music is no exception. Over 15 songs on his roster to date, all written over the past year, John’s songs are like paintings, a depiction of life’s tales in each one. The mixture of his musical style is as diverse as the man. Sometimes bluesy with a hint of funk, sometimes pop or folk rock, always about a love lost or soon to be found, relationships and friends, but mainly about a man’s journey to find and keep his heart’s desire. Not as easy as it sounds…The range of John’s technical guitar qualities knows no boundaries : classical, Spanish, electric, acoustic, blues : you name it, John plays it.

Who then will find it hard to understand how sometimes a passion can take decades to finally find its form? That life’s journey is a mysterious one and oddly, not as common as one may think?

Who says a songwriter has to be between 18 and 25 to have something to offer to the world in terms of musicality, harmony, lyrics or vocals ? Who doesn’t know someone strikingly talented in their mid 50s, a professional in his or her own right with years of life’s accumulated experiences, and with a story to tell.

Inspired by a multitude of other bands since his teens, of course, by infinitely talented musicians over the years, indeed, by his own journey and love of the art of music, John Seeger has come to realize that it had to be done. He had to let it go, let it happen and see where it will take him. Just as obvious as ink on a blank piece of paper, John’s songwriting has been crafted into the pieces of life, which define him.

His live performances in NYC have recently given him proof (that he has been striving for) that there is an ever-growing receptive audience out there, loving his music. Just as much as he is loving his and his band,Wa2C’s, performances. A new chapter in his life begins.
