Fashion designer and producer Andres Aquino presented his latest collection entitled “Legend” during Fashion Week in New York City on February 13, 2010.

Mr. Aquino is a tireless fashion industry producer and designer who has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and TV worldwide including Fashion TV, Collezioni, Book Moda and ModaStyle International. His latest collection of original and classic designs was made from the finest fabrics and embellishments and inspired by the goddesses of mythologies from around the globe.

The object of this collection is to bring out the inner goddess in every woman, says Mr. Aquino. To that end he has teamed up with an array of creative forces including fabulous Parisian jewelry designer Didier Peiro, Sheila Hill-Hightower and Jay Hightower, designers of stunning crystal bouquets, artist Susan Freda who creates museum quality wire dresses and accessories, San Diego-based shoe stylist and boutique owner Chamian Renee Coates, jewelry designer Lek Nasuwan of Toronto’s Siam Gallery, Hollywood make up artist Mahealani Diego and trendsetting hair stylist Federico Calce. The show included performances by such world-class entertainers as tenor Eduardo Herrera, singers Material Girl, Sarah Elizabeth Charles and Maria Sciorillo, and pianist Prince Igor. The fashion show was followed by the gala Valentine’s Ball which included a silent auction fundraiser by Partners in Health to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. “Expect an evening of magical entertainment where fantasy and fashion combine,” says Andres Aquino. Diplomats, celebrities, socialites and top VIPs attended the event along with national and international press.

In her fifth appearance during Fashion Week, Atlanta-based fashion designer Sushma Patel presented her latest collection of inspired creations on February 12, 2010.

After her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Sushma Patel went on to show her first collection in her native India in 1998. Since then she has done fashion shows at a number of events across the USA including the Bollywood Fashion & Music Awards. She has also presented her designs at Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica, India International Fashion Week in New Delhi, and at the Fashion TV Summer Festival in Romania.

Ms. Patel’s designs are a unique and stunning Indo-Western fusion. They are characterized by impeccable craftsmanship and quality and an innovative approach to cut, draping and the use of opulent fabrics such as jorjut, sufan, kangiwaram and various silks. Unforgettable designs are embellished with hand embroidery and crystals. Ms. Patel is one of the few prominent designers in India to incorporate traditional embroidery, fabric printing and weaving crafts into her thoroughly contemporary creations.

Sushma Patel’s designs are meticulously handcrafted in India and sold at her own boutiques in Atlanta, United States, and in Mumbai, India, as well as at a number of upscale boutiques in India and other countries. In his fourth appearanceduring Fashion Week, award-winning Romanian designer Catalin Botezatu presented his latest collection of dramatic creations.

Catalin Botezatu is one of Romania’s most important fashion designers. He launched his career in 1992 and established his own fashion house in 1996. He is one of the few major fashion designers who directs and styles his own shows and makes all his accessories. New York-based fashion designer Adrian Alicea presented his latest collectionduring Fashion Week in New York City on February 12, 2010.

The “Falling In Love Collection” for Fall/Winter 2010 marked the solo launch of Mr. Alicea of the Nico and Adrian New York label. The distinctive ensembles incorporate the designer’s original and edgy style in a fresh couture approach. The collectionwas inspired by the very essence of love and a wide variety of elements shine through: the designer’s love of world travel; flashes of shades of red; pink and gold; animal prints and exotic furs; the sleek lines of modern architecture combined with the soft flowing movement of the fabrics of dance – from flamenco to ballet. It’s all about the mix.

A native of Puerto Rico, Mr. Alicea is a gifted designer, creative director, and photographer who has traveled the world extensively and has spent many years moving in the chic fashionista circles of Paris, Japan, Brazil and New York. He began his career as an international model and dancer and that experience lead him to co-found the Nico and Adrian fashion house in 2001. The successful team’s designs have been featured on the covers of Vogue Italia and Vogue Russia, among others.
