As Manhattan’s 28th Borough President, Mark Levine is informed by decades of experience in public service and is driven by a deep care for Manhattan and its people.
He is a strong believer in the power of local governance to shape lasting change and continuously improve our city for the next generation of New Yorkers.

Since assuming office on January 1, 2022, Borough President Levine has been working to create a more equitable, more resilient, and healthier city by striving to ensure the policies, solutions, and work of the Manhattan Borough President’s office benefit everyday people, especially historically disenfranchised communities.

While in office, Borough President Levine has successfully launched initiatives to strengthen equity and resilience throughout the borough, including:

The Million More Trees plan, which will expand the urban canopy, especially in chronically underplanted neighborhoods.

The Manhattan Small Business Booster Loans program, which has provided $2 million in interest-free loans to local entrepreneurs suffering from the pandemic. Steering the effort to establish an NYC Waterfront Protection Agency that would lead the design, construction, management, and governance of coastal resiliency projects, currently overseen by 11 different city agencies.

The Campaign to Curb Congestion, which advocates for the implementation of two-way, variable congestion pricing, reforming e-commerce and deliveries, and expanding cycling infrastructure, especially through a dedicated bike lane on the West Side Highway.

The Borough President also strives to create a civic and political life in Manhattan that is more accessible and transparent so that all people have equal representation and a place to voice their concerns and values.

Borough President Levine leans heavily on his past experiences as a public school teacher, community organizer, and two-term member of the New York City Council.

The U.S. Army’s World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) is an incredible opportunity for Soldiers to represent the United States in top national and international athletic competitions—including the upcoming Summer Olympics. WCAP Soldiers come from all components of the Army, including the Army Reserve. These athletes are selected for their ability to perform at the highest level of their sports while also serving the country.

Since its inception, WCAP has helped hundreds of Soldier-athletes achieve their goals and make their Olympic dreams a reality. Soldiers receive specialized coaching and access to state-of-the-art training facilities, sports medicine, and physical therapy to help them perform at their best. Additionally, they earn the same great pay and benefits that come with being in the Army Reserve, including education and professional development support, home loan assistance, and family benefits.

Army Reserve service has a built-in support system for these elite athletes that is impossible to replicate elsewhere. Service helps strengthen Soldiers’ dedication to training, ensuring they are ready for whatever challenges come their way, whether in their career or sport. Soldier-athletes are stronger because of the larger Army team.

Join Army Reserve Captain Sarah Beard as she discusses her experience in the Army Reserve and WCAP competing in 3-Position 50m Rifle and 10m Air Rifle events. In addition to earning multiple international medals over the course of her career, Captain Beard qualified as the 2020 Olympic Team Alternate in 10m Air Rifle and can speak on the once-in-a-lifetime chance to compete for a spot in the Olympic Games.

In addition to his extensive background in residential construction and knowledge of zoning and land use, Bill brings excellent communication skills to his real estate practice. He is extremely organized, reliable, and efficient, as well as an effective negotiator and problem solver on behalf of his customers and clients. Bill is a graduate of the Hofstra University Zarb School of Business, he was inducted into the Hofstra Athletic Hall of Fame, and he is a former ATP world ranked professional tennis player.

Bill is also an active member of the community, serving on the screening committee of the Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival, the Advisory Board for the Ecological Culture Initiative, and he has served on the Dean’s Advisory Board of Hofstra University and the Board of Directors of the Long Island Builders Institute. He also volunteers at the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons as well as the NYC Center of Self-Realization Fellowship.

Bill enjoys all that living in the Hamptons has to offer including; hiking, cycling, surfing, paddle boarding, tennis, beach going, yoga, meditation, attending performances, festivals, and benefits, and frequenting favorite restaurants. Bill resides in Hampton Bays with his wife, Susan.
