For the full and harmonious development of their personality, children should grow up in a family environment and in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.

Designated by the General Assembly in 2012, Global Day of Parents provides an opportunity to appreciate all parents for their “selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing this relationship.”

raising happy, healthy and hopeful children

Families, parents and caregivers play a central role in child well-being and development. They offer identity, love, care, provision and protection to children and adolescents as well as economic security and stability. In keeping with the spirit of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, family and parenting support is increasingly recognized as an important part of national social policies and social investment packages aimed at reducing poverty, decreasing inequality and promoting positive parental and child well-being.

Throughout June, UNICEF and partners are sharing expert tips and resources designed to support caregivers and their families. From mental health guides on everything from self-care for busy parents to supporting teens during stressful times. Fun play ideas that support child development and helps you make the most
of every moment together.

And a call for governments, business and others to scale up parenting support and ensure

Huge number of United States viewers, rave about the American Born Chinese Show

The American Disney Film Company

launched a wonderful TV series called

American Born Chinese,

and some people translated it into

“Journey to the West ABC”.

It tells a touching story about Monkey King’s child, who descended from the sky
and arrives on Earth as a Chinese student.

This TV series is very imaginative. It uses the characters in the four famous Chinese novels

“Journey to the West”

to come to the core of American culture-campus life, and draws out the resistance and justice of two students in the face of the ridicule and competition of white children.

Their energy, imagination and kung fu won the admiration of everyone, and won the care and affirmation of Avalokitesvara and Sun Wukong.

If you look at it with ordinary eyes, this movie is too outrageous,
but Hollywood is always looking for the point where the wonders of the world are related to the fate of each of us.

Sun Wukong fights goblins, there is no Chinese Chinese child who does not know,

but the price and choice of Sun Wukong who learned from the Western Paradise –

Wukong lives the same life as the sky is not to be erotic –

Wukong symbolizes his identity, but in this place
full of race In today’s American society with hatred and all kinds of contradictions, this Asian born in the United States, in despair, has a way to survive: imagine turning himself into the son of the hero Monkey King!

The campus where everyone defends themselves has become a battlefield for interpreting traditional Chinese stories and successfully finding their own identity symbols.

is currently being broadcast on mainstream media channels in the United States, starring Michelle Yeoh, Daniel Wu, Kwan Jiwei and other well-known actors.

They hope that through the expression of such stories, they can help people better understand and appreciate Eastern culture, and promote the recognition, respect and integration of Eastern and Western cultural diversity.

These well-known actors have worked in Hollywood for decades.

Michelle Yeoh won an Oscar for Chinese-dominated Oscars a while ago.

During the strike of Hollywood playwrights, all the most popular movies, TV shows and award-giving activities were suspended in May- Asian Pacific Month – Launched this Journey to the West ABC, which was a hit, it really is the manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva!

The Family Film Awards hope that this magical comedy will attract the support of more friends, stimulate the thinking of Chinese people in the United States,

let more Americans understand the history of civilization in Eastern China, and build
a more inclusive civilized society

To Help Americans During Critical Operations

Energy Action Month in October is a time to bring awareness to the goal of conserving energy in every aspect of our lives. Everyone is a part of the fight, and the small changes Americans implement at work and at home can add up to significant energy savings.

From the electricity that powers facilities to the fuel that powers vehicles, energy touches nearly every aspect of the U.S. Army Reserve mission. As extreme weather events like tornadoes, hurricanes and wildfires increase, so does the threat it imposes on Army Reserve readiness.

This is why the U.S. Army Reserve is focused on energy and water resilience, or the uninterrupted access to these resources, to ensure Soldiers can maintain operations while also supporting federal agencies during natural disasters or other times of disruption. The U.S. Army Reserve Energy and Water Program targets investments that make facilities sustainable, modern, efficient, and affordable so they may remain operational in the face of power outages, water shortages, and other issues brought on by climate change and cyberattacks.

Threats to energy are constantly on the rise. We must all take action to reduce energy and water consumption to protect America’s energy future. Personal resilience is just as important as Army resilience, and conservation is a key element of both.

Some simple yet effective changes to remember for all Americans:

Powering down lights/electronics when they are not in use

Turning on energy saving modes on copiers/printers

Using natural light whenever possible

We spoke to Colonel Daniel Cederman, Director, Army Reserve Installation Management Directorate, will be available to outline how the U.S Army Reserve is increasing energy and water resilience at facilities across the nation through innovative solutions. He’ll also discuss how the public can similarly do their part to reduce energy waste.

BIO: COLONEL DANIEL L. CEDERMAN Director, Army Reserve Installation Management Directorate

Colonel Daniel L. Cederman enlisted in the United State Army Reserve in June, 1993, and was commissioned as an Officer through the Reserve Officers Training Corps at Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY in 1997. He is currently serving as the Director of Army Reserve Installation Management for the Office of the Chief of Reserves in Ft. Belvoir, VA where he is responsible for the strategic planning and resourcing of all Army Reserve facilities, and manages the Army Reserve Military Construction program. COL Cederman’s previous assignments include: Combat Support Equipment Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 642nd Combat Support Equipment at Fort Drum, NY; Battalion Maintenance Officer, 2nd Engineer Battalion at Camp Castle, Korea; S3 Plans Officer in the 14th Engineer Battalion, deployed to Iraq in 2003 in support of 4th Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2004, COL Cederman transitioned to the U.S. Army Reserve and became Company Commander of 3-414th Infantry (Training), 104th Training Division and then mobilized as a Civil Affairs Team Bravo (CAT-B) Leader for the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, Tikrit Iraq, in support of 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division. Subsequent assignments include Chief of ROTC Operations for the 104th Training Division, Fort Lewis, WA; Mobilization and Readiness Chief for the 416th Theater Engineer Command, Darien, IL; Professor of Military Science at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY; and Chief of Community Planning and Stationing at U.S. Army Reserve Command, Fort Bragg, NC. COL Cederman holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, a MA in Organizational Leadership and Design from Chapman University, and a MA in National Security Strategy from the National War College, National Defense University, D.C. His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Command and General Staff College (ILE), the Civil Affairs Qualification Course (Mobilized), and National War College. COL Cederman’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal (for Valor), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, and Sapper Tab. COL Cederman is a native of Buffalo, NY, is happily married to Laci KJ. Neal, and has one daughter Liliana.

With many workers suffering mental health damage during the past year, they may be hesitant to go right back to work even when “normality” returns. They may now want to do something different with their lives or have stepped back to “rewire” themselves for better work-life balance in the future. Many will prefer jobs that mean working less and being more creative. Still others will be reluctant to return to professions—including healthcare, teaching, restaurants, retail, and travel—that obviously bear risks of exposure to new viruses in the future.

The Museum of Interesting Things is a traveling interactive demonstration/exhibition of antiques and inventions that goes to schools, libraries and events virtually or physically and inspires kids and adults to be curious. We bring back tinkering. I like to say it shows kids and adults that their ipods did not pop out of thin air! Like a circus…just no elephants!

The Invention Show

Exploring the industrial revolution and mechanical era, with interactive demonstrations of such items as the steam engine, Thomas Edison cylinder phonograph, windup toys, camera obscuras and mechanical/gear based household items such as a box wooden telephone.

For the Museum’s 16mm early film show I got this 16mm Film WALT DISNEY “ALICE’S EGG PLANT” 1925. The Alice Comedies are a series of animated/live-action shorts created by Walt Disney in the 1920s, in which a live action little girl named Alice (originally played by Virginia Davis) and an animated cat named Julius have adventures in an animated landscape. For the Museum film program on health and exercise I got this BIKETTE COMMERCIAL JACK LaLANNE 16MM FILM ON 3″ REEL. Jack was an American fitness and nutrition guru and motivational speaker. He had so many TV shows and books and opened his first fitness club in CA in 1936! He lived until 2011! As a kid he was the meaning of fitness.

I just got for the Museum’s history of Music show this Rubber Soul by The Beatles (Vinyl) 1965 1st Pressing. This was their 6th studio LP and released just before Xmas. The name Rubber Soul came about after McCartney heard an American musician use the term “plastic soul” when referring to Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. The UK version had 2 more songs, they wanted to be more folk for the US version. The Museum’s collection of records is over 2000!

This is the 16mm SCOPITONE film – LA PACHANGA – by AUDREY ARNO sung in Spanish. It means the Party I believe. In the 1960’s and early 70’s Scopitones were film Juke Boxes you would find in a tavern or any place you would see a jukebox. For 25 cents you see and hear a 16mm film right there on the screen! I also got a really rare Hebrew one of HAVA NAGUILA – 1959 – by RIKA ZARAI.  Rika Zaraï was an Israeli singer and writer. She popularized Israeli classic songs such as Hava Nagila, Yerushalayim shel zahav and Hallelujah.The Museum has over 100 scopitone films, we will certainly do another festival again this summer, the last one was very popular. The films we fun and cheesy and a bit risque, remember, they were for people who were often drunk and men. hehe

For the Museum’s Trip to the Moon show I got this Press Photo of scenes from “Alive from Off Center: A Tribute to George Melies”. Program Two: in A Tribute to George Melies, the lost scripts of cinema’s master of special effects (left), George Melies, are given whimsical reinterpretations by modern filmmakers on Alive From Off Center. (Top right) Christopher Malavoy stars in Pierre Etaix’s “The Artist’s Dream”; (bottom right) David Rocheline and Daria Elies are featured in Philippe Gautier’s “The Seven Deadly Sins.” Program Two premieres on Thursday, July 6, 1989 at 8:30 p.m. ET on PBS. A production of KTCA-TV, Minneapolis/St. Paul, the series showcases the world’s leading video, film and performing artists.
