Signature Series Apollo Music Café Returns With Stephanie McKay and Jermaine Paul

The Apollo Theater announced details today for a slate of dynamic Fall/Winter 2013 programming consisting of music and dance performances, showcases of established and emerging artists, and education programs led by featured artists. The season will feature groundbreaking and diverse presentations including the World Premiere of James Brown: Get on the Good Foot – A Celebration in Dance, spotlighting the influences of the late “Godfather of Soul,” and the special holiday presentation of Ellington at Christmas, which focuses on The Duke’s Nutcracker Suite as well as a recreation of his Sacred Music Concerts, under the musical direction of David Berger and featuring Savion Glover and Lizz Wright.

These new productions will be complemented by the Apollo’s signature series Amateur Night at the Apollo, which will culminate its 79^th season with the Super Top Dog finals, and Apollo Music Café, the popular series showcasing independent musicians in an intimate club-like atmosphere on the Theater’s Soundstage.  The Apollo also continues its legacy as a cornerstone for the Harlem community with engagement programs for school children, young professionals, and community members, led by notable performers, scholars, and community leaders.

What to bring:  Our Pot Luck is to Celebrate Sid, so please bring whatever you feel will be enjoyed.  Food, Drinks and Merriment all will be good, remember it is dinner time!

Entertainment will occur all night long.  There is a Steinway Up-right Piano.  It is a friends and  family affair.  Also the room holds 80-100 people so it is intimate. 

No mikes, no lights or as David Ippolito would say JUST US! 

We hope Sid will have some books and CD’s to sell there.
