The story is inspired by Ms Ma Xiaoqiu- a then 28 year old Little Autumn and her experience in a Beijing blue jazz bar in summer 1997 when Hong Kong returns to china. In the midst of euphoria and confusion, Little Xiaoqiu found among her singing friends her life force and guidances: Book of virtue and the power of Music. It helps her to become who she is today.

Dr Ma Xiaoqiu, a self made billionaire wearing three titles of three outstanding Hong Kong listed companies, is first and foremost a humanitarian and a dreamer. She believes that people are equal and that the future belongs to a collective world, where China and the United States and all countries co-exist in peace, with respect to each other’s cultures and identities. MXQ Lifewater product- “better cells better health” is what she had in mind, a plant based treatment to enhance immunity through modern technology, and she found it in the NutraNaNoSphere technology that sends the nutrients directly to blood cells; while family films and family values are what she pursues and holds above everything else. Without a family, what do we have? If world pandemic has taught us anything, that is we must care for one another. But who will tell these stories? Who will support those acts? This is one of the reasons why Dr. Ma Xiaoqiu insists on investing in American technology and American films, especially the writers, directors and the talented youths who have dreams but without means to fulfill these dreams. China’s reform and opening up in the past four decades have provided Ms Ma enough materials to share with the world. Both as a witness and participant, Ms Ma knew how the Chinese people adhere to their dream of living a decent life to swallow pains and sacrifices. It’s her wish that through heartwarming stories and a woman, a mother’s sensitivity, Ms Ma invites the world into the heart of China and see and feel…

Talent alone is not enough, Ms Ma doesn’t wish to see these talented youths will have to put their dreams on hold for 40 years, like her!

We hope that through the inaugural collaboration of DYF Entertainment and Dirt Merchants, our first co-production – X Tao will find a way to China and to our further co-productions to come, movies, more sophisticated and feature length. And to find the road to the unknown – XTao aided by the power of music and dream for a better life and a better world.

Lastly, to Ms Ma, music connects the world. In those years of working 14-16 hours a day and being displaced from ones’ homes through massive urbanization, what gave Ms Ma and her generation hope and solace was none other than the music that soothes the soul and caress the wounds. Blues, Jazz are among them. In the midst of hard work and the dream to get rid of poverty, Ms Ma and her friends found their own songs. They put them on stage when that moment comes, 25 years overdue…

Although only 45 minutes in length, Ma Xiaoqiu’s story has “Marvel moment”, heroines who don’t give up in front of adversity. In ordinary mundane life is a strife for an extraordinary moment that defines who we are.

Zhou the Artist——A Dreamer and His Dreamland

In a word, artist Zhou’s works can be described as generous and
giving, a dreamer who dreams and sow seeds of dream as he travels
100,000 miles a year across China and around the world.
It is common in art for the artist to exaggerate their themes, whether it
be beauty or anguish. In this respect, Mr. Zhou is rather stock.
However, the way in which he chooses to exaggerate his themes is
anything but.
This past Friday on Oct 19, Mr, Zhou had an art exhibit at the United
Nations Headquarter in New York City. His subject matter was the
national parks of America, ranging from Yellowstone Park to the
Niagara Falls.
As a visitor to the States, Mr. Zhou’s time was limited: He had only 40
days to both acquaint himself with his subject and put his themes
onto canvas. Mr. Zhou not only had managed this challenge, he did it
in, well, flying colors. 37 brilliant oil paintings are a feast to art lovers
to savvy and enjoy, such as me, a member of millennium generation
busy making a living in the vast and expensive city with no time nor
means to travel, to stop and to draw.
On the canvases lining the West Terrace of the UN headquarters
were layers upon layers of rich and vibrant paint. Just going by color
scheme alone it is hard to make the connection between these
brilliant patches of color, still seemingly wet, to the arid landscape of
Yellowstone Park. Yet, it is this National Park located atop a volcano
that comes to mind to all those who see it.
