The Army Reserve is dedicated to serving its Soldiers in uniform, in the classroom and on the job. The Army Reserve’s Public Private Partnership Office (P3O) fosters and builds a nationwide network of corporate, profit/non-profit, and academic industry partners by providing Army Reserve Soldiers, veterans and spouses with employment and training opportunities that correlate with their military experience. This allows them to apply their expertise and skills in both their military and civilian careers.

P3O ensures Army Reserve Soldiers are succeeding in their civilian careers which directly benefits the Army and the Nation by bringing substantial value and depth to the force. These mutually beneficial relationships and opportunities enhance Soldier readiness and bring additional capabilities to the Army Reserve and the Nation. Private and public sector partners benefit from this partnership in a variety of ways:

The public sector gets access to the best, brightest, and most highly trained Army Reserve units and Soldiers.
Soldiers benefit by gaining access to unique training opportunities that help them in their military and civilian careers and help advance their leader readiness and individual readiness.
Philanthropic organizations or companies with philanthropic foundations have the opportunity to provide resources to respond to national emergencies and support peace and stability operations around the world in support of military commands and their work with civilian populations.

The P3O program aims to expand its reach by adding more partnerships across various industries. Since its inception, the program has successfully placed over 1,800 individuals in careers. Soldiers have increased opportunities to serve in real world missions working with local populations and integrating into larger, joint, and inter-agency teams. More than 87% of the force integrates military service with civilian careers, providing the Army with professional skills, education and expertise acquired in the private sector.

Join Alecia Grady, Director of the Private Public Partnership Office, as she explains how the P3 team supports Army Reserve Soldiers, veterans and their families with career and skills training opportunities. Ms. Grady will also discuss her career journey and what it means to be a Dual Career Citizen for the Army Reserve.

Legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick certainly believed this, as evidenced by this quote from a 1968 interview he gave in “Playboy” magazine. Kubrick (who made “2001,” “The Shining,” and other classics) argued that any meaning in life must be created by ourselves, and once we accept this responsibility, we can “forge a fresh sense of purpose and affirmation.” When we accept the challenges and limitations of life, he said, “our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment.”

The annual observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 provides the U.S. Army Reserve the chance to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans to the Army and to the nation.
Embracing and celebrating diversity, which includes the contributions of Hispanic Soldiers, makes the Army Reserve stronger. The theme for the 2021 Hispanic Heritage Month, “Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope,” captures that spirit as we come together to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans to our nation and Army.
The Army Reserve values the strength of a diverse force and an inclusive environment. Today, more than 16% of America’s Army Reserve is comprised of Hispanic American Soldiers. The talent, skills, and abilities in a diverse force help us meet future defense challenges and win our nation’s wars.
Hispanic Americans have a proud legacy of military service, dating all the way back to the Civil War. Whether their heritage can be traced to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean or Central and South America, these Soldiers and civilian employees have answered the “call to duty,” defending America with great honor, dedication, and distinction.
Thousands of Hispanic-American Soldiers are supporting contingency operations throughout the world. Today, just as in generations past, Hispanic Soldiers can be especially proud of their significant contributions defending the nation and embodying the Army Values that unite all service members as one.
Major General Alberto C. Rosende, Commanding General of the 63rd Readiness Division located in Mountain View, California, will be able to discuss the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Mayor Euille began his business career as an accountant with an Alexandria construction company in 1972, and within eight years, he advanced to Vice President/Controller, ultimately having responsibility for all contracting, financial and administrative functions. In 1987, he formed WM. D. Euille & Associates, a construction services firm, specializing in federal government contracts.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Mayor Euille graduated from T.C. Williams High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in 1972.
The Mayor is active in community affairs in Alexandria and Washington, DC. His dedicated involvement includes the William D. Euille Foundation, which he founded in 1994; the Alexandria Boys and Girls Club; the American Heart Association; 1998-2000 Chairman of the Alexandria United Way Campaign; INOVA Hospital Health System Board; Hopkins House Association; 2001 Chairman of the NOVA Urban League Board of Directors; Alexandria Community Trust; The Alexandria Rotary Club; and the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria. He is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Alexandria.
He has also been active in business and construction industry organizations such as the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; the US Chamber of Commerce; National Association of Minority Contractors; Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc; and the NOVA Building Industry Association.
Mayor Euille has received many major awards and honors, such as the 1994 Entrepreneur of the Year from the Virginia NAACP (The Mayor was the inaugural winner of this award); Who’s Who in the East; Who’s Who in America; 1995 Community Service Award from the Hopkins House Association; Outstanding Young Men of America Award; 1996 Blue Chip Award from the US Chamber of Commerce; the 1996 Entrepreneur of the Year from the Washington Post and Ernst & Young, LLP; the 1996 Small Business Person of the Year from the US Small Business Administration; and community service awards from the Alexandria NAACP (1996), Northern Virginia Urban League, Inc. (1997), Alexandria Chamber of Commerce (1997), and the Alexandria Sportsman Club (1998); Philanthropist of the Year 2000 from the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; SBA’s Graduate of the Year Award in 2000; Education Association of Alexandria’s “Whole Village Award” (2001); and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year (2001), and the 2016 Man of the Year Award from Nu Xi Zeta Sorority, Distinguished Service award (2016), from Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association; Lifetime Achievement Award, from The Alexandria Democratic Committee; and Rotary International Community Caring Award (2016).
Mayor Euille was elected to a three-year term on the Alexandria City Council in May, 1994. He was re-elected in May, 1997 (Vice Mayor) and in May, 2000. He was elected the City’s first African-American Mayor in May, 2003 and was re-elected Mayor in May, 2006, 2009 and in November 2012. He served on the Board of Directors for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority; the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), and the Virginia Econimic Development Partnership. He is Past Chairman of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) and Past President of the Virginia Transit Authority (VTA). and past Chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG), and past President of the Virginia Municipal League (VML); Past member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and National League of Cities (NLC).

Casa Larga Vineyards is one of New York’s premier wine producers, highly regarded for its production of award-winning, world-class Ice Wines.

In 1974, Andrew Colaruotolo (Mr. C), an immigrant from Gaeta, Italy, founded Casa Larga Vineyards as a hobby, seeking to create wines reminiscent of those produced by his family’s vineyard in Italy. The first three wines were produced in 1978, and earned gold and silver medals in the first competition they entered. Casa Larga continues this tradition of excellence to this day – producing high-quality, award-winning wines, while acting as a driving force in the evolution, growth, promotion and recognition of the Finger Lakes wine region.

Casa Larga produces red and white table wines, Champagne and Ice Wine. The winery produces three lines of wines, classified under the names Casa Larga, Fiori and Vineyard Hill. Casa Larga’s Fiori line, created in the mid-1990s, is reserved for only the highest quality wines, produced through traditional methods, including the French Methode Champenoise and the German Eiswein process.

The vineyards at Casa Larga occupy 45 acres of land, located atop one of the highest points in the Finger Lakes region, where they grow two varietal classes: the European Vinifera and French-American Hybrids. Particular varieties of wines produced include Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Muscat D’Ottonel, Pinot Grigio, Vidal, DeChaunac, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Casa Larga is proud to have won over 600 awards in major competitions.

Ice Wines are Casa Larga’s star products. The Fiori Vidal Ice Wine is the most awarded ice wine in the United States. It has received some of the highest recognitions in the wine industry, including the “Governors Cup” for “Best Wine in New York State.” In 2010, the wine won “Best Dessert Wine” at the International Riverside Wine Competition, Double Gold and “Best Dessert Wine at the New York Wine & Food Classic, Gold and “Best of Class” at the Pacific Rim International Wine Competition and a Gold Medal from the Beverage Tasting Institute.

Casa Larga features a wine shop and tasting room that is open daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Hours vary by season.

In 2004, Mr. C. passed away and was succeeded by his wife Ann, who assumed the role of Casa Larga Vineyard’s President. His son John assists as winemaker. His daughter Mary Jo manages the Finance Department and his daughter Andrea is the Director of Operations.

Tamsen Fadal is an award-winning journalist and author and currently anchors the 5pm and 10pm at PIX11 News, Tribune’s Flagship Station in New York City.
