]]> Gary Baker, 60, of Purchase, N.Y. Baker will be featured in a videotaped profile to be aired nationwide on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31 – Sept. 1, beginning at 9 p.m. EDT, Aug. 31. The Telethon, benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will be broadcast from the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. Locally, the Telethon can be seen on WWOR, Channel 9. In the video profile, Baker discusses the daily challenges of living with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease) . Baker, who uses a power wheelchair for mobility, also talks about his involvement with MDA’s programs. ALS is one of more than 40 diseases MDA fights through its worldwide research and nationwide service programs.
