A Global Virtual Gathering Honoring Mother Earth Through Unity, Music, and Peace

New York, NY — April 22, 2026 — Planet Heart, in collaboration with We, The World, is proud to present the 18th Annual World Peace Earth Day Celebration, taking place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 7:00–9:00 PM ET.

This inspiring global event will be held virtually in Room ONE following the Unity Earth Weekly Call and streamed live across Facebook and other platforms, bringing together a diverse community of thought leaders, spiritual teachers, musicians, and changemakers from around the world.

Founded by peace ambassador Andrew Kaen, Planet Heart has been producing World Peace Earth Day celebrations since 2007, creating a sacred space each year to honor Mother Earth and foster unity across cultures, traditions, and communities.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Our Planet, Healing Our Heart,” invites participants into a powerful shared experience of connection, reflection, and collective intention for a more peaceful and harmonious world.

The evening will feature:

• Inspirational talks from global leaders and visionaries
• Live music performances and artistic expression
• Prayers and blessings for world peace
• A worldwide interactive gathering dedicated to healing the Earth and all beings

Dire warnings at Davos, pushed to the periphery

All week at the World Economic Forum’s annual gathering in Davos, Switzerland, talk about climate change and renewable power has been relegated to the sidelines.

That changed on Wednesday, when President Trump used his speech at this gathering of the world’s top business leaders and policymakers to attack clean energy.

“There are windmills all over Europe,” he said. “There are windmills all over the place and they are losers.”

That was just one snippet from a speech in which Trump assailed the “green new scam,” promoted fossil fuels and made inaccurate statements about China’s use of coal.

Trump’s assault on renewable energy struck a discordant note at an event that was once a center for the corporate climate movement. But since Trump’s re-election Davos has strained to retain an idealistic, optimistic spirit.

For years, Davos was where chief executives and heads of state came to make high-minded pledges about how they would use their power to transform the world for the better and reduce dangerous planet-warming emissions.

Recently, however, the focus on climate change and stopping biodiversity loss has taken a back seat to issues like cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and geopolitics. Instead, talk about sustainability efforts and climate action is now largely relegated to the scientists and activists.

Jennifer Morris, chief executive of The Nature Conservancy, told me that the dialogue in Davos had some glaring blind spots. “We’re not talking enough about oceans here,” she said, citing one example.

“Water is not woke,” she added.

Corporations are suddenly silent

The explanation for Davos’s pivot is simple. Climate change is no longer center stage in Davos because, in large measure, corporations have gone quiet on the issue.

“The Davos programming is a reflection of what chief executives want to talk about, ultimately,” said Sebastian Buckup, who runs the World Economic Forum’s center for nature and climate.

And what C.E.O.s want to talk about has changed.

Six years ago, Larry Fink, the chief executive of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, used his time in Davos to rally Wall Street to combat climate change, promising to “transform finance.”

In an article I published last week, I explained how Fink sparked a movement that came to encompass most of the major banks, asset managers and asset owners in the world, which pledged to used their trillions of dollars to try and blunt global warming.

But in the face of pushback from Republicans, the fallout from the war in Ukraine and the return of President Trump to the White House, Wall Street has largely abandoned its climate pledges. Many of the alliances designed to make finance more sustainable have fallen apart. Investors have withdrawn tens of billions of dollars each quarter from E.S.G. funds.

Even though Fink is now co-chair of the World Economic Forum and took a strong hand in shaping this year’s program, which features hundreds of panels and speakers scattered across giant convention halls and small meeting rooms, discussion of climate change was largely missing from the most prominent programs — with the exception of Trump’s remarks.

Warnings from scientists

On the rare occasions when there was frank talk about the dangers posed by our rapidly warming world, the warnings were more stark than ever.

Johan Rockström, director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, delivered a presentation on Tuesday in which he showed dozens of ways in which the planet’s natural systems are under severe strain.

“The human pressure on the planet has now reached a crisis point,” he said. “The era where we can continue with economic growth without putting the stability of planet at risk has come to an end.”

Rockström added that “these pressures on the planet are now at risk of causing irreversible, potentially catastrophic tipping points.”

On Wednesday, I moderated a panel about why it was in companies’ own interest to protect nature.

“If you don’t have good land and good soil, you can’t have sustainable supply chains,” Kirsten Schuijt, director general of WWF International told me.

Schuijt said that more corporations were working to address these threats, but not fast enough. “It’s moving way too slow, because we’re losing biodiversity in basically every place we care about,” she said.

Then on Thursday, I hosted a discussion about how much economic activity was tied to the oceans, which are warming rapidly regardless of whether you think talking about it is “woke.”

For much of the conversation, the speakers put forward a rosy vision of continued economic growth that somehow didn’t pollute the planet. Then, during a remarkably candid moment, an executive acknowledged a notion that until recently had been gospel at Davos.

“The biggest adversary to nature might be humans,” said Boudewijn Siemons, chief executive of the Port of Rotterdam, the largest harbor in Europe. “The problem is us.”

BOSTON (March, 2020) — Fenway Community Center (FCC), an independent nonprofit neighborhood space, will hold its annual fundraiser “Love, Fenway,” at 6:30pm on March 19 at its address, 1282 Boylston Street. FCC’s mission is to serve as a gathering place to share information, deliver programs, and provide services that enrich the lives of all Fenway residents, while also exemplifying its values of collaboration, community, enrichment, equity, innovation, and sustainability. This is the center’s second yearly benefit to celebrate, support, and generate more awareness of its organization and the services it provides. It will include awards, live music, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a raffle, and a silent auction. Tickets for “Love, Fenway” are $75 and available via the FCC website or Eventbrite.

Last year, the fundraiser was a huge success, raising more than $25,000 for the Center. The attendance and participation demonstrated the passion of residents to contribute to their neighborhood and the organization’s influence within Fenway. FCC serves its neighborhood residents as its priority but welcomes surrounding communities as well. The Center is determined to hold a successful fundraiser to bring awareness and expand on their services. This year, with the sustained support of its members, friends, and sponsors, it hopes to continue building a more united community.

At “Love, Fenway” this March, Executive Director of FCC Robert Kordenbrock will present the 2020 Community Spirit Award to Brenda Clark, as well as honor the late Stephen Sorkin. Clark first came upon FCC in September 2018 and has been an active member since. She currently serves on multiple committees, including those for Programming and Health & Wellness for All. Sorkin moved to the area in 1978 to pursue his passion for teaching theatre. He taught his own “Acting is Believing” class and subsequent January 2019 performance at FCC, showcasing the community of diverse people and talents he cultivated.

Reflecting on the progress the nonprofit has made, Kordenbrock said, “we’ve experienced unprecedented growth since last year’s Love, Fenway as far as membership, attendance at FCC programs and events, and financial support from local businesses.” He added, “we have exciting plans in store for the rest of 2020 and can’t wait to share them with the Fenway community!”

Fenway Community Center at The Viridian is a 501(c)(3) organization established to provide a safe, vibrant, and inclusive neighborhood gathering space for Fenway and Audubon Circle residents and organizations; to provide multigenerational programming of benefit to the community; and to partner with local groups, colleges, universities, and institutions to provide creative and useful classes, exhibitions, and workshops in arts and culture, health and wellness, education and enrichment, and civic engagement. Founded in 1988, Robin Hood is New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization, and has focused on finding, funding and creating programs and schools that generate meaningful results for families in New York’s poorest neighborhoods.   The Robin Hood Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund has granted over $71 million to organizations throughout New York’s tri-state region that help individuals and families recover from the devastating effects of the storm.  In addition, Robin Hood’s board of directors pays all administrative, fundraising and evaluation costs, so 100% of your donation goes directly to organizations helping victims of Hurricane Sandy rebuild their lives.
