]]> It is the time of year it seems; you’re already in a good mood and it somehow just feels right. Your friends are doing it, your co-workers are asking for it, and you’re also bombarded with phone calls and postal mail from all the organizations you gave to last season. It is less ubiquitous to find a person or company that gives year round. We saw a sign for the NY Cares coat drive and wanted to check-out how to a organization could participate. Oz Moving and Storage decided to host collections at three of its six locations. It is a great way to encourage giving during the holiday season by the people in the neighborhood where our stores are located. With a company of more than 200 employees it also allowed our employees to bring coats as donations to improve the community of New York City. It was very successful and we plan on participating at all of our locations next year to gain increased support. Oz Moving also supports the community in many other ways year round. Over the summer of 2007, the company sponsored a team for the National Kidney Foundations kidney walk. We assembled a team, collected donations from employees and walked for a great cause in South Street Seaport on October 21, 2007. It’s no wonder this company is involved in so much charitable giving, the founder, Avi Oz was quoted in Our Town Eastside magazine as saying. If everybody gives a little bit, we’ll have a better place for everybody. You can’t just ignore people in need if you do its going to come back around to bite you later on. This was after he drove around a moving truck distributing food, blankets and clothing to the homeless. What can we see next from Oz Moving and Storage? On February 23, they’re donating two men and a truck for the day to help Big Brother Big Sister in their annual Big Night Out event. We look forward to doing whatever we can to improve the community we live in.?
