Voting is over, so now let’s pray we don’t have to hear the best and worst from many and only see Good News from all the candidates. Congratulations to ALL, we have:

FREEDOM TO VOTE, AND FREEDOM IS PEACE.

The Good News is that there are many truly doing public service, and we praise and thank them in Peace and Love. Forward Motion.

We have some local New York City Good News Political stories to share:

The first is the Giving Back Foundation honoring Mira Nair, the Mother of Zohran Mamdani, and a great filmmaker. Zohran grew up seeing the power of her films and also the wisdom of his dad, a Political Science Professor. Here is an Award given to Mira in 2013 by friends at the Giving Back Foundation. Also, here is my interview with Mira and others at the IAAC Indian Awards, also in 2013, in which she discusses Peace.

I had the experience this year of speaking about two candidates I know and believe in, and I learned a great deal from handing out flyers. I suggest that everyone get some experience with our voting system and candidates, as it can build your respect for our FREEDOM TO VOTE.

PS- I was also the President of my Sleepy Hollow High School Senior Class, so every reunion I have the opportunity to be involved and share some great times, he he!

Here are three interviews that Good News has the honor to share with you. The first is one of the founders of the Working Families Party; the second is our new president of the Manhattan Borough, Brad Holyman-Sigal, talking about FREEDOM, during the celebration victory party, during an interview with the Gay City News that I also recorded and asked short questions. The last was with our friend and Earth and Peace Day Partner, the current Manhattan Borough President, Mark Levine, when he was interviewed on Spectrum TV about becoming the Comptroller of New York City and his stance for overseeing the finances for our NYC Administration for the best for ALL living in New York City.

Jane Goodall, one of the world’s most revered conservationists, who earned scientific stature and global celebrity by chronicling the distinctive behavior of wild chimpanzees in East Africa — primates that made and used tools, ate meat, held rain dances and engaged in organized warfare — died on Wednesday in Los Angeles. She was 91.

Her death, while on a speaking tour, was confirmed by the Jane Goodall Institute, whose U.S. headquarters are in Washington, D.C.

The British-born Dr. Goodall was 29 in the summer of 1963 when the National Geographic Society, which was financially supporting her field studies in the Gombe Stream Chimpanzee Reserve in what is now Tanzania, published her 7,500-word, 37-page account of the lives of Flo, David Greybeard, Fifi and other members of the troop of primates she had observed.

The article, with photographs by Hugo van Lawick, a Dutch wildlife photographer whom she later married, also described her struggles to overcome disease, predators and frustration as she tried to get close to the chimps, working from a primitive research station along the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika.

On the scientific merits alone, Dr. Goodall’s discoveries about how wild chimpanzees raised their young, established leadership, socialized and communicated broke new ground and attracted immense attention and respect among researchers. Stephen Jay Gould, the evolutionary biologist and science historian, said her work with chimpanzees “represents one of the Western world’s great scientific achievements.”

And in becoming one of the most famous scientists of the 20th century, Dr. Goodall opened the door for more women in her largely male field as well as across all of science. Women — including Dian Fossey, Biruté Galdikas, Cheryl Knott and Penny Patterson — came to dominate the field of primate behavior research.

On learning of Dr. Goodall’s documented evidence that humans were not the only creatures capable of making and using tools, Louis Leakey, the paleoanthropologist and Dr. Goodall’s mentor, famously remarked, “Now we must redefine ‘tool,’ redefine ‘man,’ or accept chimpanzees as humans.”

Dr. Courtney Pierce received an undergraduate degree in animal science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from King University. She is a small animal general practitioner with special interests in surgery and pain management, feline medicine, and compassion fatigue prevention in veterinary health care workers. She is a certified as a “Cat Friendly Veterinarian” and Compassion Fatigue Profession (CCFP). Dr. Pierce lives on a small farm in Damascus, Virginia with her husband, two young boys, four rescue dogs, one orange cat, and several chickens.

This little boy using his slipper as a phone to take a “selfie,” and the other kids posing like it’s the real deal. There’s laughter, togetherness, zero expecations and zero complaints. A powerful reminder: Happiness is not found in what we own, but in how we see the world and most importantly ourselves! In our constant chase for success, upgrades, and recognition, we often forget the simplicity of being content and happy. These kids — with nothing — reminded me of everything that really matters! Not every lesson comes from a boardroom, a billionare or a guru… Some just come barefoot, and smiling
