During the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s been an uptick in the number of people working from home and across the U.S. adopting pets from animal shelters, and many others are also signing up to be temporary pet foster parents. Recent statistics show pet adoptions are up 100% from last year.

Pets can be a great, healthy addition to a family. Reports show that 78% of pet owners say their pets have improved their quality of life during this current social distancing period. For example, new and long-time pet owners are spending more time outside exercising with their pets, which is a great activity for everybody.

Just as our pets are keeping us healthy it’s important to return the favor by protecting your pets as you take them to dog parks or hiking trails, or even just extended walks around the neighborhood.

• Fleas: even though we don’t often see them, just one flea can lay over 500 eggs in the first 21 days once they invade your do and then make their way into your home.
• Ticks: they are found in many of the places your dog likes to go, such as tall grass, trails and leaves and can transmit serious diseases.
• Mosquitos: a single bite from an infective mosquito can transmit heartworm disease.
• Contaminated Soil: hookworms and roundworms can live in a dog’s intestines and can be passed on to you.

Last month, I mentioned that Spring had sprung, I might have been wrong, as
we still saw the snow cover our daffodils when I was in Montauk with my
family during Spring break.

Montauk is so beautiful in the colder weather, it’s still a paradise… the
beach is exciting and hiking in some of the great NATURE Montauk locations
always is impressive and quiet. A great getaway. I love my Montauk Manor,
but the Good News is that everywhere in Montauk have something special to
offer to stay and to eat.. and let’s not forget the wonderful library for
the family. Montauk is God’s Country. Just the smell of the fresh salt
air fills your blood cells with new life and the toxins with run away! If
you never have never been to Montauk, everyone, any SEASON IS A TREAT IN

One outstanding event I can assure you is the Montauk Music Festival on May

Montauk Sun founded this festival. As a former CBS and PBS Production
executive and musician having been involved with 1000’s of Award Winning TV

In the ancient mountain village of Quiang Minority, a young American architect comes to work on his thesis.  Jake accidentally poisoned himself, while taking a hike on the mountain.  However, he is miraculously saved and returned to the village by an unknown person.  When he awakes, he doesn’t know what happened and who saved him.  Not knowing who saved him, he becomes obsessed with finding the savior as well as what happened on the mountain.
Many lessons are learned as the village Quiang Minority struggles with the inevitable culture clash of the old Chinese ways and the new Western ways…
