On Sat., October 18th , (rescheduled from July) Enjoy a Patriotic benefit concert tribute to the Hudson Valley’s Civil War Volunteers through ballads, stories, poems and campfire songs. Rally Round the Flag, performed by the 77th New York Regimental Balladeers, Civil War Reenactors. Come experience songs of the Civil War Era as the Balladeers, volunteer their talents to benefit Bannerman Island. This is a terrific program and the first time, a reenactor troupe will perform on the island. Refreshments are available. Tickets are $35. Additional donations welcome. Boat departs from Newburgh at 11:00 am Torches Dock and the Beacon Institute Dock at 12:30pm. The benefit is part of the Third Sunday Music Tour.

In town for the 3rd Sunday of the month? Just hop on board the Estuary Steward and ride over to Bannerman Island where you can enjoy a self-guided tour and a live music concert. This tiny jewel in the setting of the Hudson Highlands exhibits rich history and beautiful scenery of this place will provide a wonderfully enriching day for the whole family. The whole experience is 2.5 hours.

The Bannerman Castle Trust Inc., in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, provides a public tour of Bannerman Castle and Pollepel Island. All proceeds will benefit the Bannerman Island and Bannerman Castle preservation efforts, to ensure many can experience this beautiful place for generations to come.

This tour consists of the following:
• A 30-minute boat ride over to Bannerman Island aboard the Estuary Steward during which you will learn all about the island and it’s history.
• A self-guided tour of the island in which you will visit the famous Bannerman Castle.• A live music performance by fantastic local musicians!

The tour departs from Newburgh, NY and advance booking is required for all tours! Please wear comfortable shoes as there is some rough terrain on the walking tour portion of the experience. Strollers cannot be accomodated. There is a 72-step climb from the dock to the start of the tour (there is a rest stop along the way).
