MOST OF US KNOW SOMEONE WITH CANCER. THANKS TO ADVANCES IN RESEARCH, THERE ARE NEARLY 17 MILLION CANCER SURVIVORS IN THE U.S. TODAY, AND NEARLY HALF OF THEM HAVE SURVIVED 10 OR MORE YEARS SINCE THEIR DIAGNOSIS. HOWEVER, MANY STILL FEEL UNCERTAIN ABOUT THE FUTURE AS THEY COPE WITH THE MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF THE DISEASE.
A PROGRAM CALLED SURVIVORSHIP TODAY: WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LIVE WITH CANCER AIMS TO HELP PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE REALITIES THAT PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CANCER FACE EACH DAY. ACTOR STERLING K. The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS)
As Chief Executive Officer,Shelley Fuld Nasso leads the public policy activities of NCCS at a time of rapid and fundamental health care system change. Shelley joined NCCS in 2013.
Prior to joining NCCS,Shelley served in leadership roles at Susan G. Komen, where she leveraged Komen’s grassroots network in Washington, D.C., and in state capitals. She is a graduate of Rice University and holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Shelley’s commitment to the work of NCCS is strongly tied to the experiences in the cancer care system of her dear friend, Dr. Brent Whitworth, a beloved physician who was diagnosed with stage IV cancer days before his 42nd birthday and who passed away 19 months later. Through Brent’s experiences, Shelley witnessed the strengths and flaws of the cancer care system and embraces the notion that policy change can make cancer care better for patients and caregivers.
Shelley and her husband Michael live in Maryland and are the parents of three boys.

2017 Love International Film Festival (LIFF) Supporting, The Lotus Light Children’s Charity Set For, July 18-22 in Beverly Hills, CA
Beverly, CA – (ANS – 12 July) The 2017 Love International Film Festival (LIFF), which will benefit his Lotus Light Children’s Charity (TLLCC) has been organized to promote a week of love, peace and healing through the art of cinema and will take place July 18th to 22nd. The event will focus on bringing films and filmmakers from across an international community whose work embodies the fundamental message of love and contribution. Screenings of films from over 12 countries and all over the United States will take place at the iconic Laemmle’s Music Hall 3 in Beverly Hills, California, July 18th to 20th. Panel discussions to with Film Industry Leaders will take place on July 21st at the Flame in Santa Monica, CA. Award night on July 22nd and private party will be held at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. Over 30 high profile celebrities have confirmed attendance to participate in the awards ceremony.
The Love International Film Festival was co-founded by Ata Servati, a spiritual prize winning poet/writer/actor/director and film maker. All proceeds from the film festival are given to The Lotus Light Children’s Charity (TLLCC) whose mission is “to build a league of empowered, educated, proactive individuals who will have the necessary resources to be able to reach out to impoverished children throughout the world. Nick Loeb spent a summer in High School living with his high school friend, Todd Swedock and father Teddy Swedock, whom he became very close with. Teddy passed away of ALS earlier this year so Loeb is hosting an invite-only charity pool party and ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at his East Hampton estate. The event will kick-off at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 23rd where Loeb will contribute $100 to ALS for everyone who participates in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has gained incredible popularity over the past couple of weeks, in which people are nominated by other people to either donate at least $100 to ALS or douse themselves with a bucket of ice water. Celebrities who have recently participated include Justin Timberlake (challenged Jimmy Fallon), Martha Stewart (challenege Ellen Degeneres, Gwenyth Paltrow and Blake Lively), and Ethel Kennedy (challenged President Obama), among many others nationwide. With a host committee comprised of New York and Hamptons elite, and music by DJ David Katz, the event is sure to be the talk of the Hamptons as notables and celebrities gather in support of a good cause.

Based on the 1994 autobiography of the same name, MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM chronicles the inspirational life of Nelson Mandela as an international icon and one of the world’s most revered leaders.
