Featuring the new ENVIREMWARE line in luxury, eco-fashion and environmental protection from DRC and the Root Brands

ELYSIAN, an international luxury lifestyle brand created to inspire and reflect the interests of women, will launch the Inaugural CatWalk FurBaby fundraiser on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at Sony Hall, kicking off New York Fashion Week 2023, hosted by Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin.
CatWalk FurBaby will pair designers, models, rescue animals and charities together for a morning of passion with a purpose. Ten models – wearing outfits designed by fashion designers including Marc Bouwer, Malan Breton, Karen Caldwell, Anne Fontaine, Gloria Lee, Merci Dupre, Nicole Miller, Noize Apparel, Victor de Souza and Brook Wilder – will each grace the runway with a four-legged companion, and a panel of celebrity judges headed by Fern Mallis with Carol Alt and Karen Abercrombie will hand out awards to animal welfare organizations paired with each model-and-pet team.
“This is the first time that fashion, animals and charity have been brought together in New York Fashion Week,” ELYSIAN Founder Karen Floyd said. “To do it in a way that will benefit the lives of countless pets adds a layer of meaning that will not soon be forgotten.”
DRC Ventures, a global catalyst for conservation efforts led by visionary founder Dr. Christina Rahm, is the event’s title sponsor. DRC Ventures is hosting Merci Dupre Clothiers couture line which is expected to become the ultimate in luxury, eco-fashion, and environmental protection. This unique line of ‘Enviremware’ clothing will host a protected coating of nano-biotech technology. This new form of apparel will offer an unbeatable barrier against hazardous toxins such as EMF radiation, heavy metals, viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungus, while supporting non-exposure of radio frequency electromagnetic particles from 5G. The ELYSIAN team and SohoMuse have brought together 10 designers from all over the country for one eclectic, high-energy show,” said Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, the event’s emcee and cofounder and president of the creative networking site SohoMuse. “No two outfits will look the same, and some of our designers are so dedicated to the cause that they are creating complementary outfits for the pets.”
“Our nation’s animal shelters are facing unprecedented overcrowding due to inflation, housing restrictions, and a decrease in adoptions,” said Cathy Bissell, founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. “BISSELL Pet Foundation is grateful to be the beneficiary charity of Catwalk FurBaby to make a difference for homeless pets in ten animal welfare organizations across the country. COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine — Sept. 28, 2021 — Wreaths Across America Radio is proud to announce the next episode in its series of roundtable discussions focused on veteran healing through sharing stories of resilience, purpose, and success. This discussion will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 12 PM ET, and can be heard exclusively on Wreaths Across America Radio.

The roundtable will focus on the recalibrated warrior, and how finding purpose can benefit not only in your own journey of resilience but help connect with others working to overcome similar challenges. Guest panelists – listed below – will be interviewed by Wreaths Across America’s Executive Director Karen Worcester and Director of Military and Veteran Outreach, Joe Regan, United States Army Veteran.

Guest Panelists Include:

Travis Mills, Founder and President of the Board for the Travis Mills Foundation. United States Army Staff Sergeant (ret.) Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne is a recalibrated veteran, a motivational speaker, actor, author, and advocate for veterans and amputees. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive.

On April 10, 2021, Travis was critically injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) during a routine patrol in Afghanistan and spent 19 months at Walter Reed. After his recovery, Travis attended an adaptive sports camp in Colorado and realized the need for a such a place where a veteran, and their entire family could relax, reconnect, and find strength. Born out of this idea, the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans’ Retreat was founded.

Ginger Gilbert Ravella, Author, Military Wife, and Ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation. Ginger Gilbert Ravella is a military wife, Gold Star (widow), mother of five and stepmother of two. Her personal mission is to encourage anyone who seeks reconciliation and peace when life hurts the most and to continue to serve a nation by serving others.

Ginger works tirelessly to support and raise funds to help fallen and disabled veterans and their families. She is an international speaker and author devoted to her God, her family, and her country. She is remarried to another widower and USAF fighter pilot, Colonel (Ret) Jim Ravella, who lost his wife to breast cancer. Ginger currently resides in Nashville, Tenn., with her family.

The goal of the roundtable series is to help reduce barriers for veterans by:

· Supporting generational bonds between service veterans through stories of service and success;

· Destigmatizing issues faced by veterans and asking for help;

· Combating inaccurate perceptions of veterans by discussing the diverse experiences, challenges, and success of service members, veterans, and their families; and

· Connecting veterans with valuable resources.

“I know this is going to be a meaningful discussion,” said Karen Worcester, Executive Director, Wreaths Across America. “As everyone involved has a synergy of mission and a deep understanding of veterans’ needs and the needs of their families. KAREN BIO: No last time due to patient confidentiality rules

Karen offers a no nonsense approach to living with hepatitis C. A Hepatitis C survivor, Karen created a liver loving diet and lifestyle that allows her to create awareness and advocate for the hep C community. After receiving successful treatment for hep C in 2012, Karen began a website, ihelpc.com, to encourage and inform other patients by talking about her experience living with liver disease. Karen has also authored The Liver Loving Diet to provide health and nutritional tips for those with liver disease.

Hepatitis C, or hep C, is a viral infection that can cause chronic inflammation and scarring in the liver, leading to long-term health problems. Chronic hep C is also the most common reason for liver transplants in the United States.[i] But that’s not the only reason the virus is considered a major public health problem. Among 2.3 million people living in the US with hep C, 40% don’t even know they have it. [ii],[iii] Many people who are infected with chronic hep C don’t experience symptoms or have non-specific symptoms, like chronic fatigue. They can be asymptomatic for several decades. And someone infected with the virus can spread it whether they have symptoms or not. 1
Karen, a hep C survivor and advocate for the community, didn’t feel any symptoms of her hep C until after a bike ride, when her feet became numb and her body was swollen. The following day she was admitted to the hospital with liver failure and ultimately was diagnosed with hep C. Karen eventually felt empowered by the knowledge of her diagnosis and decided to take the step to treat her hep C.

There are many factors which could lead a patient to refrain from getting tested for hep C. These may include stigma, not experiencing symptoms, lack of access to treatment or fear of side effects.[iv],[v] The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends one-time testing for all adults over 18 years of age, pregnant women during each pregnancy and those younger than 18 if at risk. 1

Since May is Hepatitis Awareness Month, it’s the perfect time to discuss the importance of getting tested for the infection and find out more about its symptoms.

A leukemia diagnosis is devastating – and when the first steps in a treatment plan fail, patients can wonder what happens next.

There are a variety of reasons why treatments fail, and patients need to work with their healthcare team to explore their options if treatment failure occurs.

BIO:DR. MICHAEL MAURO:
• Michael Mauro, MD, Professor of Medicine, Member and Attending Physician and Leader of the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Program, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY
o Dr. Mauro’s clinical expertise is in treating patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), as well as other myeloproliferative disorders, including myelofibrosis, polycythemia and thrombocytosis. In practice, he offers in-depth explanation regarding diagnoses and therapy options, and is a proponent of active partnerships with his patients to personalize decision-making and monitoring. He is a board-certified hematologist and leader of the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Program within the Leukemia Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Before joining Memorial Sloan Kettering, Dr. Mauro was on the faculty of Oregon Health and Sciences University for 13 years. There, he directed the CML clinical trial program. o Bio: Karen is a teacher, former runner turned yogi, wife and mother of two from Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
o Journey with CML:
§ When she began losing excessive weight and noticed a weakness in her legs during runs, she initially attributed these symptoms to turning 40 years old. Eventually she decided to visit her doctor, but her doctor was not concerned and told her to come back in a few months if she was still experiencing the same symptoms.
§ A few months later, Karen returned to her doctor for an ultrasound, which revealed her spleen was enlarged. Following a blood test, a nurse called Karen and told her it was suspected she had blood cancer and urged Karen to come straight to the hospital. The nurse expressed concerns about her potentially being at risk for a stroke. After further testing, it was confirmed that Karen had chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Karen spent several days in the hospital to help regulate the CML. After she was released from the hospital, Karen started taking a daily medication to help control the CML. Eventually Karen was able to return to teaching and her usual activities.
§ Following her initial diagnosis, Karen developed a genetic mutation that caused her treatment for CML to stop working. Since there were no available treatment options effective against the mutation, Karen enrolled in a clinical trial and responded well to the treatment she was given.
§ Today,Karen remains on the medication she took in the clinical trial and is stillteaching.
