Bannerman Island Gallery, 150 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508

The Bannerman Island Gallery located at 150 Main Street in Beacon, NY is happy to present a Fine Art Holiday Exhibition, opening on Saturday, November 13, 2021. The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, January 30, 2022. An opening reception for the show will be held on Saturday, November 13th, from 4:00-6:00pm at the gallery.

Paintings, watercolors, prints, photographs, and hanging mixed media works will decorate the walls – while ceramics, sculpture and other artistic gift items will fill out the gallery. Many of the works will be Hudson River Valley themed. Visitors to the gallery can expect to see representational landscapes, florals, interiors and still-life works – as well as other works from the imagination. Functional and whimsical ceramics and other gift items will also be featured.

All works will be for sale and all proceeds from sales will benefit on-going restoration work on historic Bannerman’s Island. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon – 5:00pm and most weekday afternoons and early evenings by chance or appointment by calling 845-416-8342.

According to CDC data from 2010, DVT and PE affects as many as 900,000 Americans each year.3 Further, PE could be deadly.1,3 No Time to Wait has launched in part to raise awareness about symptoms of DVT and PE and encourage those experiencing these symptoms to not delay speaking with a healthcare provider. Symptoms can be representative of many conditions, and only a healthcare provider can determine whether these symptoms indicate DVT/PE or another condition.
DVT is a blood clot in a deep vein, usually in the leg, thigh, or pelvis and can also occur in the arm.1,4 A PE is a blood clot in the lungs and is the most serious condition that can be caused by DVT.1 This happens when a DVT clot, or part of it, breaks off and travels through the bloodstream to the lungs, reducing or cutting off blood supply. 1,4 PE can cause sudden death in about 25% of cases.3

It’s important for those experiencing symptoms that could be due to DVT or PE to talk to a healthcare provider right away by phone, online or in person. Seeking medical attention early may help reduce the chances of DVT or PE becoming more serious. Good News was going to share thoughts of 2020 Bittersweet Thoughts that were sent to us in an Inner Happiness group that we are part of. We have decided to still share it as we are believers in the Good in the World and that our difficult times will pass when we all realize that we are all in this together, our www.goodnewsplanet.TV motto. They also say a little laughter, during our most difficult times is healthy, I hope you agree. Additionally, we share a link to a Benefit Concert that we did on New Year’s Eve to raise money for Support Dogs for First Responders & Vets and www.peacedayparty.org. I performed on the Sax and the Piano and share Thoughts of Wisdom from Soundscapes on a TV Channel… Enjoy.

2020 Bittersweet Thoughts

1. The dumbest thing I ever bought was a 2020 planner.

2. 2019: Stay away from negative people. 2020: Stay away from positive people.

3. The world has turned upside down. Old folks are sneaking out of the house & their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors!

4. This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came to my house & told my dog… We had a good laugh.

5. Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.

6. Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands?

7. I never thought the comment, “I wouldn’t touch him/her with a 6-foot pole” would become a national policy, but here we are!

8. I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.

9. I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to the Backyard. I’m getting tired of the Living Room.

10. Never in a million years could I have imagined I would go up to a bank teller with a mask on and ask for money.

Frederick who lives for part of the year in The Netherlands and also has a UK base in Cheshire – has been involved in peace activism since the early 1980’s, and is the Founder and President of Children of the World 2000, a not for profit organisation supported by the International Peace Bureau and UNESCO.

He is patron of several NGOs including the Earth Focus Foundation in Switzerland, the Lady Geertruide School Project in Haiti and the World Peace Gardens Network.

After leaving university the prince joined the family firm, an import-export business, and was also involved in publishing, travel writing and photography. His present work is as a World Peace Emissary and he is a Fellow of the International Institute of Peace Studies & Global Philosophy.

We met with the prince at the UN General Assembly in the Fall of 2002 together with Dame Jane Goodall a UN Messenger for Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall and Roots n’ Shoots initiative.
