Chinese communities in America. Today,

we bid him farewell!

                     

It came to my notice that exceptional entrepreneurs pay meticulous attention to details.

Whether it’s organizing meetings, planning ribbon-cutting ceremonies, or arranging for

me to speak on stage, he ensures perfection in every aspect of the process. I remember

that many dignitaries, including government officials and Chinese community leaders, all

acknowledged that Mr. Lin Jianxin truly embodied the concept of wholehearted

community service, genuinely reaching every corner of the nation.

Our Family Movie Awards aims to assist Chinese businesses, particularly during the

unprecedented decline in Flushing’s Chinese enterprises during the three-year

pandemic. Yet the resilience and subsequent rebound of the Chinese community,

especially in Flushing, New York, have contributed significantly to America’s

prosperity. Jason has led many private entrepreneurs in New York in founding the

United Association of Chinese Americans and Overseas Chinese, offering aid and

warmth, and even helping some small businesses in learning about finance and

insurance, laying a foundation for worry-free future living and working in America.

On August 3rd, 2023, during the audition for the TV series “Main Street 缅街” at the

Virgin Hotel in New York, Mr. Lin Jianxin was expected to be present to cheer everyone

on. But he did not appear that day, and people could not reach him by phone. He did not

show up, lively and spirited, as he had in the past…

The American Huayu China Film Group remembers Mr. Lin Jianxin, Chairman of the

United Association of Chinese Americans and Overseas Chinese. We grieve the loss of a

friend, mentor, and potential partner. Today, we bid him farewell, saluting a hero on his

journey to eternity.

Lee’s Journey…

Lee studied at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to and received a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture with a minor in Psychology in 1990. Interior Architecture is a combination of Interior Decoration, Interior Design & Industrial Design only; it does not include an Architectural degree. Lee has over twenty (20) years of experience in the Architectural and Interior Design industries in both Europe and the USA.

As a self proclaimed “learning enthusiast,” Lee has expanded her skill set to include: Aromatherapy, expertise gained at the Tisserand Institute in London; Reflexology, as studied in both Europe and the USA; and Feng Shui, having achieved certification at the BTB Feng Shui Masters Training Program in New York City under the teachings of the Grand Master Thomas Lin Yun. In 2013 Lee earned her accredidation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Green Associate.

Lee now has a one-of-a-kind combination of expertise in corporate and residential design, plus the in-depth knowledge of ancient Eastern philosophies that create an extraordinary Holistic Interior Architectural approach for her clients.

Her boutique firm is located in Tribeca, where for the last decade Lee has cultivated a following of clients that value her unique methodology used in a range of projects, including full-gut renovations, smaller decorating challenges, and Feng Shui analyses of potential new properties. Lee and her team creatively and enthusiastically guide their clients through the design project journey in a way that is not only beautiful, but also insightful and fun.

Water is from divine Water is the secret of life, save water is save life, love water is love life, because life is the most precious.

As days gradually lengthen and the last vestiges of Winter recede, ice and snow begin to melt and the first buds of Spring appear. In many parts of the world the Swan is a symbol of light and considered the harbinger of Spring, and to me one of the most wonderful sights at this time of year are swans floating serenely on village ponds, in parks and on rivers. With their long serpentine necks and pure white plumage, throughout the ages their grace and beauty have inspired the imaginations of poets, artists and musicians alike.

In some cultures the swan is a feminine symbol associated with the Moon, and in others a masculine symbol associated with the Sun. In Greek mythology, swans are associated with Apollo, the God of the Sun, and with Zeus who took on the shape of a swan to get close to Leda with whom he had fallen in love. Greek Goddesses associated with swans include Artemis and Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love who travelled in a swan-drawn chariot.

In Celtic mythology the pagan Goddess Brighid celebrated at Imbolc (02nd February) is also associated with swans. Brighid is a triple aspect Goddess (revered as Maiden, Mother and Crone), who as a Maiden ruled over Poetry, Writing, Inspiration and Music; as a Mother over Healing, Midwifery and Herbalism; and as a Crone over Fire and the working arts of the Smithy. So what better this Inbolc, than to consider the attributes and teachings of the Swan.

Many lessons are learned as the village Quiang Minority struggles with the inevitable culture clash of the old Chinese ways and the new Western ways…
