Over 60 million Americans, about one-fifth of the U.S. population, live in areas where access to healthcare, including IV administration, is often limited. This particularly poses challenges for people with chronic diseases like MS.
Roger was diagnosed with MS when he was 36, and experienced symptoms including migraines, vision loss and leg pain.
However, he has been able to manage his MS thanks in part to a newly approved treatment by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The treatment is the first and only twice-a-year, 10-minute subcutaneous injection for certain types of MS and provides a new and much needed option for people living with the disease, particularly those who need flexibility in the route of administration or treatment time.
Dr. Robert Shin, Director of the Multiple Sclerosis and Clinical Neuroimmunology Division at UVA Health, is available to discuss the importance of this treatment for MS and will explain how it provides additional choice and flexibility for both healthcare providers and people living with the disease. Roger will also be joining Dr. Shin to talk about his experience with MS and how this treatment option has helped him manage his disease.

New Survey Shows AdultsAges 50-59 See Value

But Lack Awareness of vaccines

Nearly three quarters(73%) of adults ages 50-59 say it is absolutely essential, extremely important or very important for adults their age to get vaccinated, however, more than one-third of older adults have never heard of or are unfamiliar with the vaccines recommended for their age group. In fact, 36% of adults ages 50-59 think that only high-risk people (e.g., managing chronic conditions, immuno-compromised, etc.) need adult vaccines, when in fact, many vaccines are recommended for most older adults. www.broughtbyvaccines.com/

Now, more than ever before, it is important to fully utilize the vaccines we have to help prevent the spread of disease.

A new data cut of a national survey of 3,000 US adults ages 50-79 and 300 US primary care physicians, found:

Less than half of adults in the US receive most vaccines recommended for them, in part because awareness is low.
More than three-quarters of older adults (76%) describe their current overall health as excellent or good, with a majority (67%) reporting typically seeing a healthcare provider (HCP) at least once a year, but despite this, they still are lacking on vaccine knowledge and vaccination habits.

Most physicians (80%) say getting recommended vaccines is one of the most important things older adults can do to stay healthy. Further, nearly all (96%) agree that talking with patients about the value of vaccines should be a priority for all healthcare providers.
A recommendation from an HCP is the most important factor in motivating older adults (48%) to get their vaccines.

Adults ages 50 and older may need a number of vaccines, based on their age, underlying medical conditions, lifestyle, prior vaccinations, and other considerations, including flu, shingles, pneumococcal disease, hepatitis, pertussis, and tetanus. For all adults, even those who are more health-conscious, more information and discussions with an HCP could play a critical role in improving vaccination and health outcomes.

Vaccines help protect the moments that matter in our lives and are important to help stop the spreadof disease.

Bank offerings are cited as providing the biggest ‘bang for your buck’ when it comes to everyday services

BACKGROUND:
When considering the overall value provided by services that involve a bill or fee, a poll released recently by TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank^®, finds over half of consumers (57%) cite day-to-day banking as providing the greatest value for their investment. This is relative to other services including, telephone/mobile phone (19%), cable/satellite television (19%) and financial advice (5%). 

Convenience Is Key – The TD Bank poll reveals that when it comes to value provided by their checking accounts and day-to-day banking needs convenience reigns supreme. The top elements considered to be the most valuable include: · Easy online banking (62%) · Convenient bank store locations (47%) · Convenient ATMs (45%) · Options for no, or reduced fees (41%)

Men vs. Women – Men are more likely to note easy online banking (63%) and convenient ATMs (46%) as the most valuable elements to their checking accounts. On the other hand, women cite convenient bank hours (30%) and branch locations (52%) as the most valuable. 

Banking on Your Watch – Online banking is the most frequent banking activity. Respondents noted going online to manage their finances an average of five times per month. According to the poll, consumers would like to visit banks in the evening or on weekends more than they currently do (30% versus 19%).
