Jeff Gitterman is a widely recognized leader in the climate-focused investing field, with a particular emphasis on climate adaptation and resilience. He is also the co-creator of the firm’s SMART (Sustainability Metrics Applied to Risk Tolerance)® Investing Solutions, a suite of global climate-aware allocation strategies available to financial advisory firms and individual investors.

Jeff has over 30 years of experience as a financial advisor, with a primary focus on high-net-worth individuals and higher education professionals. Gitterman Wealth Management specializes in working with individual investors as well as college and university professionals via the New Jersey Alternate Benefit Program (ABP) and the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS).

Jeff began realigning Gitterman Wealth Management towards a climate focus in 2015, after launching the firm’s SMART Investing Solutions. In 2020, the firm expanded to provide thought leadership and practice management offerings to the financial advisory and institutional markets through Gitterman Asset Management.

The firm has also hosted many climate-focused events for financial advisors, including several conferences at the United Nations Headquarters, and most recently, the Climate & Capital Conferences at the New York Stock Exchange in partnership with ICE.

Jeff is a co-host of TheIMPACT TV show, which films at the New York Stock Exchange and airs on fintech.tv. Jeff is the author of Beyond Success: Redefining the Meaning of Prosperity, and an Associate Producer of the feature documentary film Planetary. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Child Health Institute of New Jersey at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and dedicates much of his free time to raising funds and awareness for the autism community.

ESG Today: Nearly 90% of C-Suite execs want compensation tied to human sustainability metrics, Deloitte survey finds, and more…

More than four out of five C-Suite executives agree that they need to be more accountable on human sustainability issues in their companies, and an even higher proportion want their compensation tied to human sustainability metrics, as they face increasing pressure from stakeholders and anticipate benefits from improvements in workforce well-being, according to a new study released by global professional services firm Deloitte.

With rising human sustainability challenges, the study indicated that companies are facing a series of risks on these issues, including employee retention at both the worker and executive levels, with 59% of workers and 71% of C-suite respondents reporting that they would seriously consider taking a job with another company that would support their well-being. Notably, 80% of executives said that they would be more likely to accept a job at a company advancing human sustainability, and 61% saying that they would even accept a pay cut to do so.
