In celebration of New York’s unparalleled artistic communities, Armory Arts Week works to highlight the distinct art scenes of our city’s multiple neighborhoods.  This concept of a week of arts related events was born out of the festivities and widely felt excitement generated by The Armory Show, formalized with the support of the city in 2009.  Since then, Armory Arts Week has continued to expand its reach throughout all five boroughs of New York. From elaborate benefit parties to interactive public programs, promoting exceptional arts-related events.  Armory Arts Week Audience: attracting residents of NYC, the Tri-State area + visitors from all over the world!  With this year’s Focus on China, the # of foreign attendees promises to exceed that of previous years.

Re-Branding “Craft” for Today’s Market:
The art world still resists welcoming “craft” into its fairs. The SOFA shows have succeeded in distinguishing craft by using words like Functional Art, Objects and Furnishings, bringing the finest work to the international art market. The Architectural Digest show established their Made section, avoiding using the word “craft,” yet handmade glass, wood, ceramics & furniture comprise the show.

American Art Marketing is providing fine craft artists and designers a platform to show and sell their work at the new Contemporary Art Fair this May. The international art fairs are where you will find your new customers, trending towards a young & sophisticated audience. In May both the fairs and the buyers will be in New York for Frieze week.
