 ENSURES CONTINUITY OF DENTAL CARE AND KEEPS PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS SAFE<br />
With stay-at-home orders and dental clinics closures, 35% of people say they’ve already missed a dental appointment due to the pandemic.  With telemedicine adoption in hyper-drive – telehealth visits surged 50% and virtual health interactions are on pace to exceed one billion by the end of2020. Teledentistry is being thrust into the spotlight, emerging not only as a solution during the era of social distancing, but also as a growing health trend. The American Dental Association says teledentistry includes a broad variety of technologies and tactics to deliver virtual medical, health and education services which include:<br />
Live video or synchronous communication<br />
•	A two-way, secure “real-time” interaction between patients and dentists using a live video, web-based connection to link a patient and a dental provider.<br />
Store-and-forward or asynchronous communication<br />
o  A two-way, secure “non-live” exchange of health information between the patient and dentist, such as a patient’s X-rays, photographs, and health symptoms.<br />
Remote patient monitoring (RPM)<br />
•	Allows medical data to be collected from an individual in a different location, allowing a health provider to monitor a condition.<br />
Mobile health (MHealth)<br />
•	Use of smartphones or other mobile devices to help people lead healthier lifestyles.<br />
Some of the benefits of teledentistry include:<br />
•	Convenience and Time savings for patient<br />
•	Dentist can reach more patients, especially those in rural areas<br />
•	Patient can reach health care provider quickly in emergency to relieve severe pain and/or risk of infection<br />
While the COVID-19 crisis may have focused more attention on teledentistry, it can also serve as a turning point to help people maintain dental health beyond the pandemic and connect millions of people with the care they need. Right now, more than 56 million Americans live in areas with a shortage of dental professionals and 74 million don’t have dental insurance.  With more than 90% of all systemic diseases having an oral manifestation, teledentistry can also be a tool to transform the healthcare industry by aligning dental and medical providers to care for the whole person, not individual parts.<br />

Pop superstar will.i.am has one. Michael Kors says he’s coming out with one. Apple is very soon going to finally start selling a long-awaited one. Everybody, it seems, in the world of fashion is talking about the same thing:</p>
<p>Wearable gadgets.</p>
<p>And what better time to talk about that, than during Fashion Week season in New York—and here to do that is fashion and lifestyle reporter Katlean de Monchy, who joins us in studio today. Good morning, Katlean!</p>
<p>Katlean: good morning.</p>
<p>Anchor: And you have your top five hot fashion technology trends this morning!</p>
<p>Katlean: That’s right—fashion and technology are merging more and more and some of the new ideas that are coming out of that merger are really exciting.</p>
<p>Anchor: Okay, let’s get right to it!</p>
<p>Number five!</p>
<p>Katlean: Number five for me is what I call the Battle of the Smart Watches. As you mentioned, Apple should be shipping its much-anticipated watch this Spring, but in the meantime, there are some really great options out there, especially if you are an Android user rather than an iPhone user.</p>
<p>The most interesting to me is the Samsung Gear S, which you see on the left—the one with the bigger display. It’s a watch that can make phone calls without your phone nearby—not even the Apple Watch can do that. And it has a super-bright display called Super A-M-O-L-E-D, which seems perfect for a wearable that you have to use out in the sun and rain. The Samsung Gear Fit is more for workout fiends; you can read your text messages on it but I hope people aren’t going to try that while they’re running along the West Side Highway trail. </p>
<p>Anchor: And they’re retailing for less than the Apple Watch?</p>
<p>Katlean: Apparently—there’s no official word from Apple on pricing yet but Samsung is selling the Gear S for 200-dollars with contract and the Gear Fit for about 120-dollars —and no contract.</p>
<p>(Note: the reason the Gear Fit does not have a contract is because it can’t make calls and therefore does not need its own cellular plan).</p>
<p>Anchor: Okay, what’s at number four?</p>
<p>Katlean:</p>
<p>At number four is a 14-thousand dollar sewing machine. </p>
<p>(Take VO):</p>
<p>Now, you might think, how can a sewing machine cost 14-thousand dollars? But this latest 2015 Dream Machine from Brother—which by the way is the exclusive sewing machine company of Project Runway and its spinoffs—has been declared a Consumer Digests Best Buy. And THAT is really hard to get. It has a huge HD LCD screen—and a built-in design center—and video tutorials—and a camera-like device called an “Innov-Eye” that can scan what you’re trying to do and show you how to sew it or embroider it right on the LCD.  So, for people who are serious about creating fashion, 14-thousand dollars for a machine like this really IS a Best Buy.</p>
<p>Anchor: And there are a lot of people who are THAT serious about sewing?</p>
<p>KATLEAN: Oh, yes. The American Sewing Guild, just to name one, has 125 chapters and more than a thousand individual groups. And we wouldn’t have Fashion Week without a lot of last-minute sewing!</p>
<p>Anchor: Ok. Number 3?</p>
<p>Katlean: At number three, Fitness sensors. They’re everywhere right now. They’re in workout clothes like the Hexoskin, which all by itself measures everything about your workout. There are companies like iFit which create a whole ecosystem to measure your health, your diet, your sleep, everything about you. <p>Katlean: Yes—one research group says that by just next year more the fitness tracking industry will sell about 80 million devices. </p>

<p>Katlean: At number two, I’ve got a gadget that’s not really a wearable but is really interesting, especially to women, as a tool to help them improve their appearance. It is able to look under the surface using  an iPhone-connected sensor that uses a special light to examine your skin and spot problems. It can detect moisture and pigment and wrinkles and all sorts of problems, and the companion App gives you advice on how to treat your skin to have maximum skin health—and the best possible skin appearance.</p>
<p>The OKU, which you can pre-order for 250-dollars, will ship this Spring and comes with a really stylish little dock which would look nice next to any makeup mirror.</p>
<p>ANCHOR: And what if you aren’t an iPhone user?</p>
<p>KATLEAN: They hope to roll out an Android user sometime late this year.</p>
<p>ANCHOR: Okay, what’s your number one coolest gadget at the intersection of fashion and technology?</p>
<p>Katlean: This is really mind-blowing. It’s also very appropriate for Valentine’s Week because it’s all about your heart. The Nymi Band (NIMM-MEE) memorizes your heartbeat, which is unique to you, just like your fingerprint —did you know that, because I didn’t. And no matter what you do, or how high your heart rate gets, that signature is the same.</p>
<p>So—get this—the NYMI band can send a signal to anything you need to unlock, from a car door to a password on your computer, and someday even to a hotel room door that you have booked, and anything else that either needs a password or needs a lock. It really is exciting to think about a future where you don’t need to remember any passwords or carry any keys for anything, you just need to make sure your heart is all good. While there, Andy launched several pioneering branded entertainment initiatives including Reebok&#8217;s Terry Tate, Office Linebacker, recently voted one of the top ten best Super Bowl ad campaigns of the last decade; the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival, as well as programs for Ford, Coca Cola, and Nintendo. Prior to Hypnotic, Andy was director of Advertising and Sponsorship Sales at the Hollywood Stock Exchange (HSX), a simulated online stock market where consumers can buy and sell fictional “shares” in movies and stars. He spent five years as a producer and professional actor with roles in TV, feature films and theatre. He began his career at the Chubb Group in property and casualty insurance underwriting and risk management. <p>Rob Donnell, Founder and President of Brand Arc: An award-winning veteran of the advertisingindustry, Rob Donnell is Founder and President of Brand Arc, a Los Angeles-based firm responsible for developing groundbreaking product integrations for major brands such as Toyota and Lexus across TV, film, video games, mobile and digital platforms. <p>Peter Bray is currently Director of Digital at Saatchi &amp; Saatchi NY. The largest agency within the global network is home to a diverse portfolio of global and US brands, including: Tide, Pampers, Cheerios, Head &amp; Shoulders, Iams, Yoplait, Miller Lite as well as Chase Sapphire, Lenovo, Folgers, Capri Sun, Theraflu and Triaminic. Peter finds himself fortunate to have built a 17 year global career around the business of digital, ensuring it fits within not just integrated communications offerings, but is also used to transform business and unleash growth opportunities. In addition to agency life, he has also been a Director of CHOICE (the Australian Consumers&#8217; Association) and was the National President of Australia&#8217;s peak digital industry body AIMIA (the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association). While consumers are making their holiday gift lists for friends and family, retailers will be hustling to get in-store and online sites ready for the big holiday rush. Their challenge? It&#8217;s not a matter of when or what consumers will buy, but how they will buy. Will mobile shoppers continue to take the lead? Will they shop via web, smartphone or tablet? Will they expand their use of social channels? And is this the year that Thanksgiving overtakes Black Friday as the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season?<br />
These are the questions IBM will help answer in real-time through the IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark, which analyzes online shopping data ahead of Thanksgiving Day through Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and into the holiday season. The IBM Benchmark is a cloud-based digital analytics platform that tracks millions of e-commerce transactions a day, analyzing terabytes of raw data from approximately 800 participating U.S. retail web sites. The Benchmark is the only cloud-based, real-time resource for retailers and marketers that need to uncover shopping trends across a variety of channels including social media, mobile devices, and other online sources where consumers interact with their brands.<br />
The Benchmark analyzes the following metrics:<br />
&#8211; Overall online sales &#8212; including overall sales for an given moment as well as average order value, items per order and the time shopping peaked<br />
&#8211; Overall sales for vertical industries &#8212; including department stores, apparel, and home goods<br />
&#8211; Mobile traffic &#8212; including overall mobile commerce sales, traffic by device, tablet traffic by device, and phone vs. tablet statistics<br />
&#8211; Social traffic &#8211;including information on online sales generated by shoppers referred from Social Networks, i.e. Facebook vs. Pinterest<br />
&#8211; Savviest Cities for Online Shoppers &#8212; including the top cities for online sales per capita<br />
The Benchmark consists of more than 800 participating U.S. retail websites, including 50 percent of the Internet Retailer Top 100 and 20 percent of the Internet Retailer 500. All brand data is anonymous. In 2012, the Benchmark garnered more than 15,000 media hits alone, with key outlets like the Associated Press,Reuters, New York Times, CNN, Forbes, Fox Business, USA Today, and more reporting on the data.</p>

Ridgefield Park, NJ – March 25, 2013 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and convergence technologies, today announced that the NX300 is now available, alongside the NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D interchangeable lens, the first one lens 3D system capable of capturing both still images and full HD movies in stunning 3D quality. NX300 users will feel ultra-chic with the juxtaposition design of modern and retro. The device will be available in brown, white or black with a contrasting silver band. Samsung is privileged to also announce today an exclusive, multi-layered partnership with the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt.</p>
<p>Unveiled at CES in January, the NX300 is the new flagship model in the innovative NX series and also boasts the updated version of SMART CAMERA 2.0, a hub of innovative connectivity features. The Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) system enables fast, accurate phase and contrast detection, while the 1/6000 sec. shutter speed and 8.6fps continuous shooting mode gives users the ability to capture unforgettable moments. The NX300’s outstanding imaging performance is complete with the brand new, best in class 20.3 Megapixel APS-CMOS sensor, capable of capturing high quality detailed images with sharp, life-like colors that are crisp and clear in all lighting conditions.</p>
<p>The compact NX300 makes it easy for anyone to capture professional standard pictures. Samsung’s Smart Mode allows users to choose from 14 different settings, such as Creative Shot, Landscape, Light Trace or Action Freeze. Each setting will automatically adjust both aperture and shutter speed in order to obtain the best possible shot. Capturing and reviewing images is also an interactive and user friendly experience with the 84mm (3.31”) AMOLED screen and tilt display making any angle of the world easy to shoot, while the hybrid touch screen and 5-way manual key interface is simple and intuitive to use.</p>

Dr. Peter Bishop is the Chief Technology Officer <a title="Village Green Tech." href="http://www.villagegreentechcenter.com" target="_blank">www.villagegreentechcenter.com</a> and the Co-Inventor of their technology.  Dr. Peter Bishop has been a computer professional for over thirty years.  After getting his Ph.D. at M.I.T. in 1977 in object-oriented computer systems, he met the founder of Remedy while they were together at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center.  He left PARC in 1980 to work on operating systems and compilers for the National Semiconductor 16032. He then started working for a series of startups.  He helped found Forethought, the first publisher of FileMaker, which went on to create PowerPoint. Three startups later, Dr. Bishop, developed the key technology for Aeroprise, Inc., a partner with BMC Remedy, providing their mobile solution.</p>
