Who: 14-year-old Natasha Nassar, gifted Lebanese-American Soprano Opera Singer Why: July is National Make-a-Difference-to-Children-Month and Natasha Nassar is the face and voice of a new generation of opera lovers. She’s on a mission to introduce kids to the art at a young age by encouraging aspiring singers, offering tips on how to get started and being a real-life role model for other youth. At her concert at Carnegie Hall, this Saturday, June 28 Natasha will accompany internationally acclaimed Pianist Loreta Kovacic on works by Mozart and Mussorgsky. To encourage families to bring their children, student tickets are specially priced at $10 (with ID). About: Natasha has participated in vocal programs with audition-only acceptance, including Placido Domingo’s Washington National Opera in Washington, DC. Among her credits to date, Natasha was the solo vocalist for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Dubai World Cup and in the premiere of The Enchantment of Dreams in Washington DC. She also has appeared in many musicals including Grease, Annie and West Side Story. When: Performance – Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 8:30 PM Rehearsal – Friday, June 27 at 1:15 PM — MEDIA INVITED!
