What: The New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) expects more than 300 international companiesrepresenting six continents and 47 countries toparticipate in the Winter 2011 edition of the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), offering a wide range of global resources across NYIGFs ten divisions.

Some 15 international government-sponsored contingents will participate in the Fair, with eight of them from Africa, England, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Mexico and Russia located in NYIGFs General Gift division.Additional government-sponsored groups from England, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico and Peru are positioned in NYIGFs Handmade, Accent on Design and Tabletop & Housewares divisions.

Not only are global resources readily accessible throughout the Fair, they are conveniently categorized for buyers in themed product divisions, said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. No other U.S. market provides such an extensive base of international gift, home and lifestyle suppliers.

Africa Now!, Ateliers dArt de France, British Jewellery and Giftware Exports, Israel Export Institute, JETRO New York (Japan), Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH (Germany), PROMEXICO and the Russian pavilion are located within NYIGFs General Gift division. The Italian Trade Commission is represented in Tabletop & Housewares.

The American Chamber of Commerce from Peru,Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), and Israel Export Institute will be featured in Handmade Global Design; and the BritishCrafts Council and Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH (Germany) will be located in Handmade Designer Maker.

The Accent on Design division has accepted six companies from the British Design Group and four companies from Ateliers dArt de France into its juried collection of design-led resources.

Companies from around the world also exhibit independently in the Fair, with the following countriesrepresented: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, the United Kingdom (England and Scotland) and Uzbekistan.
