Felicia Young is a social action artist and the founder of Earth Celebrations, a non-profit organization on the Lower East Side of New York City since 1991, to engage communities to generate ecological and social change through the arts. For the past 30 years Earth Celebrations’ programs, www.earthcelebrations.com,
have applied the inspirational power of the arts to build community, collaboration and action on climate change, water quality, river restoration, waste management, and the preservation of species, habitats, nature, gardens, parks, and a healthy urban environment. Earth Celebrations has pioneered and developed innovative strategies utilizing collaborative arts to build broad-based coalitions and diverse sector partnerships with local organizations, academic institutions, government agencies, schools and community residents to work together and mobilize action to achieve common goals and ecological, policy and social change. The current Ecological City: Art & Climate Solutions project engages artists, gardeners, schools, organizations, youth and residents to collaborate over 9 months co-creating theatrical pageant, a procession with 20 site performances, to celebrate climate solution and sustainability initiatives throughout the community gardens, neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City.

Opening – VIDEO CLIP – Earth Celebrations’ Ecological City: Procession for Climate Solutions May, 2019 – a community art and environmental action project engaging artists, gardeners, schools, organizations, youth and residents to collaborate over 9 months co-creating theatrical pageant, a procession with 20 site performances, to celebrate climate solution and sustainability initiatives throughout the community gardens, neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City.

Closing Closing – VIDEO CLIP – The Bio-Remediation Sculpture was created for Earth Celebrations’ Ecological City: Procession for Climate Solutions by local artist/gardener Dee Dee Maucher from earth with fermented micro organisms, willow branches and other nutrient rich organic materials collected. The sculpture rode on on a cycle-rickshaw throughout the 5 hour procession and was offered to the East River at the end of the day. She floated on a reed raft and headed due south offering her nutrients for the cleansing of the river.

Two legends of the dance world, Bebe Neuwirth, and Chita Rivera will be honored. Guests will enjoy a spectacular array of ballet, modern and Broadway dance performances followed by an intimate cocktail reception with the honorees and an opportunity to meet the dancers.

The Benefit celebrates innovative, passionate and heartfelt dancers who have devoted their lives to the wonder of movement. 100% of Dancers For Good net proceeds support The Actors Fund which fosters stability and resiliency and provides a safety net for all performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan. This is done through a wide variety of programs including The Dancers’ Resource which is geared toward the professional dancer dealing with significant injury and helps by mitigating the isolation many dancers experience during recovery. Other vital programs include The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts, The Actors Home, Womens’ Health Initiative, HIV/AIDS Initiative, and Disaster Relief among many services.

About Dancers For Good
During the summer of 2015 dancer Michael Apuzzo of Paul Taylor Dance Company, and event planner/former Broadway performer Eric Gunhus came up with the idea to bring a new and fresh event to East Hampton: a dance festival of some the most prestigious dance companies and prominent dancers in the world, sharing their gifts to raise funds in support of the arts and the local community.

Michael & Eric decided to combine their efforts and the collaboration brought Dancers For Good to life with their acclaimed event in summer of 2016. Dancers For Good incorporated as their own 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2018.

The name Dancers For Good is two-fold in meaning: Dance is a discipline that stays with the dancer for life…for good. Additionally, this event brings together incredible dancers eager to give their time, talents and energy for charitable philanthropy…to do good. In Desert Hot Springs, California with a Mission Statement mandate to develop a successful Public Awareness Campaign dedicated to protecting and ensuring the fundamental right of access to safe drinking Water for All People.

On February 26, 1999 Desert Hot Springs won the coveted Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting contest 1st Place Gold Medal for the world’s best tasting Municipal Tap Water.

That moment in water history was the beginning of over six years of the actual formation of WWRF into a popular non-profit foundation. WWRF worked to select exceptionally well qualified volunteer directors, officers and advisory board members. WWRF developed and is very proud to publish our website as a comprehensive one-stop source for research of any and all water-related interests and news. WWRF selected quality links provides, efficient, retrievable worldwide water information and commentary, free of charge. The WWRF website is considered the hallmark of water repositories.

WWRF has networked closely with the United Nations, environmental and entertainment organizations working to defend our precious world freshwater resources. WWRF has sponsored many receptions networking with key UN Ambassadors to assist in adopting and implementing our goal of worldwide recognition of the “International Year of Freshwater – 2003” and the “International Decade for Action, Water for Life” – 2005 – 2015.”

The “Water Decade 2005 – 2015” mandate underscores the furtherance of international cooperation in order to address the urgent water-related goals contained in the Millennium Declaration, namely, to cut in half by the year 2015 the proportion of people who are unable to reach or afford safe drinking water. This challance, and meeting this serious goal, is one of the most noble commitments facing humanity.

Both the “International Year of Freshwater – 2003” and the “Water Decade 2005 – 2015” were initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan. These two United Nations resolutions were tirelessly spearheaded by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, H.E. Ambassador Rashid Alimov.

It was with honor that WWRF gratefully acknowledged Ambassador Alimov’s valuable support and cooperation with WWRF by naming him our WWRF Person of the Year for 2003. WWRF Spokesperson, David Carradine, presented Mr. Ambassador with our WWRF “Iris Award” for his outstanding contribution to the global water agenda at our 1st “Water For All People” Gala on June 10, 2004 in Desert Hot Springs, California.
