The Parrish Art Museum held its soldout Midsummer Party, a highlight of the Hamptons summer season, at its Museum located on Jobs Lane in Southampton, New York, on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Cocktails began at 6:30pm followed by dinner at 7:30pm and the After Ten Party at 10pm.

This year’s Midsummer Party honored the Parrish’s Founding Partners, an illustrious group of leading art patrons deeply committed to making the vision of the new Parrish Art Museum a reality. Co-chairs of this dazzling evening were Parrish trustees Deborah Bancroft, Etta Froio, Dorothy Lichtenstein, Adam Sender, and David Wassong. For over a decade, the Founding Partners have provided leadership for the Parrish’s vision for a new era. These individuals and foundations have donated generously for endowments essential to curatorial and education programs, and for planning and construction of the new Herzog and de Meuron-designed facility in Water Mill.

Always a sell-out, this year did not disappoint as the evening’s festivities began with cocktails in an air conditioned tent in the Museum’s historic arboretum. The fun continued with dinner, desserts, drinks and dancing from 10pm to 1am. The party drew over 500 dinner guests and 500 “After Ten” attendees. DJ Tom Finn provided the great music, and Saunders & Associates Real Estate was this year’s Corporate Sponsor. Individual dinner tickets were $1,000 for Patrons, $2,500 for Benefactors and $125 ($150 after June 26) for After Ten tickets.

The Parrish Art Museum is devoted to the collection, preservation, interpretation and dissemination of American art with particular focus on the art of the East End of Long Island, New York. The Museum is committed to bringing art and people together in its education and outreach programs.

While the Museum’s programs, its exhibitions, collections, educational activities and publications are related specifically to American culture, its past and present, each is related broadly to other cultures, to artifacts, to all visual forms and to aesthetic and humanist concerns. Through its programs, the Museum pursues innovative and experimental approaches, and stimulates dialogue and inquiry. It also encourages scholarship of its professional staff and initiates collaboration with related instituions.
