May Peace Prevail On Earth International & Peace Pals International Proudly Support Peace Got Talent 2026 Living Peace International is once again organizing Peace Got Talent, an artistic event that shows how music and the arts can be powerful ways to spread peace and touch people’s hearts around the world. We are pleased to invite you to participate in Peace Got Talent 2026, which will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event is organized in collaboration with Caritas Lebanon Youth, the youth branch of Caritas Lebanon, and a long-time partner of Living Peace International. Participants may perform a song, instrumental music, slam poetry, or a dance, as long as it is inspired by the theme of peace. Each performance may be up to four minutes long. The event will be broadcast on the Living Peace International YouTube channel and the United World Project YouTube channel. To take part in Peace Got Talent 2026, please submit your performance video in high quality, with good lighting and clear sound. If you record the video using a mobile phone, be sure it is filmed horizontally and kept steady throughout. If possible, we encourage using two cameras—one fixed and one moving—to make the video more engaging and dynamic. Videos may be recorded indoors or outdoors, including in natural settings. You may include images of your country if you wish, but the main performers—whether singing, playing music, performing slam poetry, or dancing—must be clearly visible at all times.   The deadline to submit your video is April 10, 2026. Along with the video, please send the required forms, fully completed and signed by you as the director of the choir, dance group, or music group. These forms are necessary to give permission to publish images of the participants, whether they are minors or adults. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (originally The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere) is the longest major poem by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797–1798 and published in 1798 in the first edition of Lyrical Ballads. Some modern editions use a revised version printed in 1817 that featured a gloss. Along with other poems in Lyrical Ballads, it is often considered a signal shift to modern poetry and the beginning of British Romantic literature.

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner recounts the experiences of a sailor who has returned from a long sea voyage. The mariner stops a man who is on his way to a wedding ceremony and begins to narrate a story. The Wedding-Guest’s reaction turns from bemusement to impatience to fear to fascination as the mariner’s story progresses, as can be seen in the language style: Coleridge uses narrative techniques such as personification and repetition to create a sense of danger, the supernatural, or serenity, depending on the mood in different parts of the poem.

The poem begins with an old grey-bearded sailor, the Mariner, stopping a guest at a wedding ceremony to tell him a story of a sailing voyage he took long ago. The Wedding-Guest is at first reluctant to listen, as the ceremony is about to begin, but the mariner’s glittering eye captivates him.

The mariner’s tale begins with his ship departing on its journey. Despite initial good fortune, the ship is driven south by a storm and eventually reaches the icy waters of the Antarctic. An albatross appears and leads the ship out of the ice jam where it is stuck, but even as the albatross is fed and praised by the ship’s crew, the mariner shoots the bird:

In 1993, Bergin bought an old church in Tipperary and converted it into a poetry centre. Bergin explained, “I’ve recently come to feel I can encourage children and teenagers with their writing.[6] I’m continually giving groups money to make videos, but I insist that they have a good script. I do it because it makes the difference between them doing a video or not. It doesn’t cost a lot, and it gives kids an incredible boost of confidence.”[6] In 1998, in response to the murder of a 14-year-old Tallaght boy, Ben Smyth, Bergin participated in setting up a special fund to sponsor young children from Tallaght.[4]

Mario René Padilla was born in Detroit and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He’s of Italian and Mexican descent, but grew up, nevertheless, a typical “mid-western” kid. Needless to say, multi-culturalism and mixed-cultural identity are central themes in his work. His poetry and stories have appeared in North American Review, The Antioch Review, New Letters, Alligator Juniper, The Ledge, INKWELL Magazine, Americas Review, Tulip Tree Review, Westwind, Chiron Review, Atlanta Review, among others. His second collection of poems, Blue Plums and Weeds, was published in Feb. 2021 by PSPoets in Los Angeles. The collection was a finalist in the Ohio University Press “Hollis Summers Poetry Prize, the Akron Poetry Prize, the Snake Nation Press poetry contest, and Crab Orchard Review’s, all national competitions for book publication. He is a winner of a Fulbright Award for his dissertation, Jorge Luis Borges: Young Poet of Prose (1919-1925). His first collection of poems, Reaching Back for the Neverendings, appeared in 1994. His unpublished collection of stories, Scales and Other Stories, was runner-up in the Red Hen Press 2016 Fiction Prize, as well as in Snake Nation Press’s Serena McDonald Kennedy Fiction Award, 2017 and the editors of each press nominated the collection for a Pushcart Award for runner-up collections. Two of his stories “La Château Possonniere” and “Scales” won first prize in TulipTree Publishing’s story contest, Stories That Need to Be Told, 2017 and 2020 respectively. He received a B.S from Ohio State University, an M.A. in English from Loyola Marymount, and a Ph.D. in Comparative Lit. from USC. He’s a longtime resident of Venice, CA with his wife and blended family of six. He teaches English, Creative Writing and Latin-American Literature full-time at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California.
