Throughouthis 49-year career, Ross Beaty has been a leader in the international mining and renewable energy industries, making a significant and lasting impact in BC and around the world. His passion for nature and environmental protection has also been pursued through his work with many environmental non-profit organizations and his environmental foundation. After graduating fromthe University of British Columbia in 1979 in geology and law, Ross began ageological contracting company, Beaty Geological, which he operated from 1980 through 1987. In 1985, Ross established Equinox Resources, a public explorationand gold mining company. In 1994, Ross sold Equinox and founded Pan American Silver.Based in Vancouver, Pan American is now one of the world’s largest silvermining companies with 10 operating mines in the Americas and over 16,000 employees. Between 1994 and 2017 Ross founded 11 other mineral explorationcompanies and a renewal energy company that has become one of Canada’s largest independent power producers. In 2018, Ross began Equinox Gold, which now operates seven goldmines in the Americas, employing 7,000 people.

Beaty is founder and President of Sitka Foundation, one of Canada’s leading environmental foundations and Patron of Beaty Biodiversity Center, University of British Columbia. He is also Director of a number of environmental NGOs, including Panthera, the BC Parks Foundation and the Pacific Salmon Foundation. Former President, World Silver Institute. Fellow: Geological Association ofCanada; Society of Economic Geologists; Canadian Institute of Mining; and RoyalCanadian Geographic Society. He has received many awards and honours forbusiness and philanthropic achievements, including the Canadian Mining Hall ofFame (2018), Order of Canada (2017) and Doctor of Laws honoris causa,University of British Columbia (2018).

Thank you again to all those who attended our Reception for Bob Dylan’s “The Drawn Blank Series” last week!

We are pleased to announce that the Reception was a success, with over one hundred and fifty people who joined us to see our wonderful collection of original paintings, original works on paper, and limited edition prints by Bob Dylan.

For those of you unable to attend last week, please know that our exhibition is up from now until May 30th. 

Our gallery is open to the public Monday- Saturday, from 10am-6pm, with the exception of Memorial Day Weekend during which we will be closed on Saturday. If none of the above work, please let us know and we can arrange a private appointment.

We invite you to come and view the exhibition, and remember to tell your friends!
