]]> ?Hi Dears, Well it is that time of year again. My wonderful friend Joanie Watkins has been organizing Christmas at Cabrini Nursing Home event for years and you are invited to spend the day to help. This year we need more people participating than ever because she lost her computer data and only has backup from a year and a half ago. (Let that be a lesson to all of us to back up our computer data!) Anyone who volunteered last year and wondering why you haven’t been contacted that is why. Volunteers are needed to entertain and/or just visit. So if you can sing or juggle, play an instrument, dance, tell jokes, have a magic trick, have compassion come and share your talents with us. We put on a variety show and give out presents, touch a hand, give a hug…sometimes just listen. The residents mostly just love to have your presence to hang out with. They so appreciate human contact and too many are alone on the holidays. You will never feel more appreciated as when you visit these Elders. So please join us on Christmas day. We get there at 1:00 and are there for about three hours. If you need to leave early that is ok but we need to start together. Angel the registered service dog will be coming to bring big smiles as well. Joanie says “So if you come it would truly be a blessing”.
