Giorgia studied voice at the highly esteemed Music Conservatory of Parma, Italy, (Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito) where her unique soprano voice and talent quickly came to the attention of the heads of Decca Music in the UK, Sony Music, Warner Music and EMI Music in New York with whom she signed her first international recording contract. Her first international release, “From My Heart”, with EMI reached the Billboard’s Top 20 Crossover Chart and peaked to No. 1 in Japan and South Africa. With successive albums that all achieved varied success in various parts of the world, including “Elysium” that also charted in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover Chart and her most recent album “Amour” which peaked to No. 1 in the sales charts in Canada, Giorgia has established herself as one of the top female Classical Crossover singers in the world.
The Universal Peace Foundation (www.upf.org) named Giorgia Fumanti, this past year, Ambassador for Peace. Giorgia received this lifetime distinction following her performance in Central Park, in New York City, for the International Day of Peace celebrations. Other achievements include being awarded the Public’s Choice Award at the Kremlin in Moscow at the AMA Music Awards, the prestigious Premio Lunezia Nel Mondo Award in Carrara, Italy and the Personality of the Year by the CIBPA Association in Montreal, Canada.

She was the special guest at the Beijing Olympics for CCTV, at the Closing Ceremony of the Shanghai Special Olympics and other important celebrations and sporting events such as singing the National Anthem at the NHL All Star Game in Dallas, Texas and at the Opening Ceremony of the International SportAccord Combat Games in Beijing alongside Jackie Chan. Giorgia also had the honor to perform for Vice President and Noble Peace Prize winner, Al Gore, for various US Governors, as well as for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at Gracie Mansion and many other personalities all over the world. January 17, 2019 – New York, NY – Premier Event Management Inc. and Harvard Wealth Strategy & Management, LLC announce New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins’ participation in the Fifth Annual Chinese New Year Spectacular concert at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall to ring in the Year of the Pig on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., offering a special program that celebrates both Chinese and American cultures. A highly anticipated annual performance, Spectacular has become a NYC tradition to mark the beginning of the New Lunar Year.

“The celebration is a reminder that our city is a gorgeous mosaic of many cultures. The evening is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity that helps to make New York City so vibrant,” said NYC Mayor David N. Dinkins.

Mayor Dinkins will read excerpts from Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address with piano accompaniment by Jie Chen. New to the 2019 program, Chinese Pianist Jie Chen and Shanghai Soprano Quan Chen will perform, as well as returning artists, American violinist Deni Bonet and tenor Dr. William Weimin Cai. Joining Dr. Cai during his performance this year will be Dominican tenor Francisco Casanova, Chinese tenor Honghai Tang and a special choir of nearly 100 voices.

The evening’s program will feature a wide variety of musical compositions, ranging from: Fantasy Impromptu by Frederic Chopin and Zueignung by Richard Georg Strauss, along with Butterfly Lovers by He Zhanhao and I Love You China! by Zheng Qiufeng.

The annual Spectacular is produced by Premier Event Management Inc. and Harvard Wealth Strategy & Management, LLC, two American organizations which share the common goal of bridging the culture gap between Chinese and American cultures. The two groups have collaborated on a series of successful projects that bring Chinese culture to the U.S. including Tong Ren Tang, the world’s oldest brand of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which opened its first U.S. location in New York City. Seventy-Five Hundred dollars will be awarded on behalf of the HKDBF-NY 2014 Charity Boat Race participants to charities of their choice. Over the last twenty three years the HKDBF NY along with its Sponsors and Teams racing for various charities have contributed in excess of $200,000 to local non-profits. The dates for the 25th Anniversary Year 2015 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York will also be announced.

An annual and much anticipated race occurring during the 2nd day of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York, (August 10th, 2014) this year’s Charity Boat Race participants included teams from HSBC, DCH, and the Shanghai Commercial Bank with each Company/Team contributing $2,500 to the kitty. The race winner (DCH) designated charity receives half ($3,500) of the funds raised and the remainder ($4,000) is divided equally between the other charities ($2,000 each this year.

The tradition of Dragon Boat Racing is an annual Chinese rite commemorating the idealistic poet and reformer Qu Yuan who drowned himself in the third century B.C. to protest against his emperor’s policies. The locals raced in their boats in an attempt to rescue the poet. To prevent fish and water dragons from eating his body, the locals beat their drums and splashed their paddles.
