Inaugural Accessibility Stage Elevated Accessibility at CES

The CTA Foundation debuted CES’s first-ever dedicated Accessibility Stage powered by Verizon Accessibility, with accessibility services provided by Microsoft and Aura cast broadcast audio provided by Bluetooth SIG.

Located in a high-traffic area of The Venetian Convention Center, the stage featured three full days of programming and quickly became a central hub for accessibility at CES.
The stage welcomed strong engagement from attendees throughout the week, bringing together industry leaders, nonprofits and innovators to share insights and showcase technologies improving independence and quality of life.

Why it matters: The debut of the Accessibility Stage marked a major milestone for CES, elevating accessibility as a visible and essential part of the global technology conversation.

CES 2026 Programming and Events Highlighted Accessibility Innovation

CES 2026 brought together leaders advancing accessibility through the CTA Foundation.

The CTA Foundation Accessibility Roundtable, presented by Salesforce, welcomed 180 attendees, while the Accessibility & AgeTech Reception gathered over 350 guests, highlighting strong engagement and collaboration across the accessibility and AgeTech ecosystem.

At the Foundation’s annual Pitch Competition, presented by Next50, .lumen received the Grand Prize and Judge’s Choice Award for its AI-powered navigation solution supporting people who are blind or have low vision. Cairns Health earned the Runner-Up Award for its AI-driven digital care companion, while EverEx received the Audience Choice Award.

HapWare was named the 2026 Health Challenge winner, Lotus was recognized as the runner up, and ONSCREEN, Inc. received the John and Jane Shalam Award.
The Foundation also hosted Accessibility Media and Funders Tours and highlighted startups through the Eureka Park Accessibility Contest, showcasing innovative accessibility solutions across CES.

NEW Accessibility Stage at CES 2026 Presented by Verizon Accessibility

Accessibility Stage

Partnering with Verizon, the Foundation is creating a new stage dedicated to accessibility at CES 2026.

CES features a significant amount of accessibility sessions, but this stage will give the content greater visibility in a central location.
The stage location is The Venetian Convention Center lobby, just outside the entrance to Halls A-D (level 2).
The stage will operate for the three busiest days of CES – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — and feature multiple sessions highlighting a wide range of accessibility topics.
Each session will also be recorded and shared for later viewing on CES.tech.

CTA Foundation 8th Annual Pitch Competition Presented by Next50

Pitch Comp

This high energy, engaging event is designed to kick‑start collaborations that will drive the future.

Our Pitch Competition is a live event showcasing lifechanging tech, which surmounts challenges faced by older adults and people with disabilities.
Startup companies pitch to a live, standing-room only audience at the Eureka Park Startup Stage, while fielding tough questions from a panel of expert judges on how their innovation can make an impact.
Winning companies (Judges and Audience Choice) will receive monetary awards and a highlight on the Accessibility Stage.

CTA Foundation Health Innovation Challenge Presented by WITH Foundation

Innovation Health Challenge

The CTA Foundation Innovation Challenge asks consumer technology companies to leverage their products to solve challenges faced by those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).

This program will particularly target the needs of working age adults (18-64) who developed a developmental disability before the age of 21 and are seeking more independence and control in their healthcare.
The event incorporates the IDD community by hosting a roundtable, followed by a pitch event, during CES.
The winning companies receive monetary awards, and a highlight on the Accessibility Stage, for their unique solutions to challenges faced by the IDD community.

Accessibility Roundtable Presented by Salesforce

Accessibility Round table

The CTA Foundation’s invite-only Accessibility Roundtable facilitates connections between accessibility advocates, nonprofits, government representatives and industry leaders, allowing them to problem solve and leverage #tech4good.

The roundtable’s goal is to advance conversation – and partnerships – on key challenges that advance inclusivity.
To accommodate as many advocates and supporters as possible, the event expanded in 2025 to a record attendance of 125 attendees.
In 2026, we are hoping to expand the programming even further, utilizing a breakout format that allows for a deeper dive on more topics.

Eureka Park Accessibility Contest

The Eureka Park Accessibility Contest gives US and Canadian based start-ups focused on accessibility the opportunity to win a spot in Eureka Park and receive recognition for their technology solutions.

This will be the 10^th year of the popular contest, and prior awardees include Aira, Good Maps, GoVoBo, WHILL, WeWalk and Xander.

Join us on opening night of CES to shine the spotlight on accessibility and AgeTech.

This reception is an open invitation to all attendees at CES interested in accessibility and aging solutions.

CTA Foundation on the Road: Connecting Across Aging and Accessibility Spaces

CTA Foundation Executive Director Steve Ewell has been on the move this month, meeting with leaders across the aging and accessibility tech landscape. From national conferences to local events, these conversations are key to strengthening our partnerships and deepening our involvement.

Earlier in June, Steve attended On Aging 2025 , hosted by the American Society on Aging — one of the largest events focused on issues impacting older adults. With sessions on policy, design, and innovation, the conference highlighted the importance of technology in creating more accessible communities for all generations.

Just last week, Steve joined Verizon’s ADA anniversary event at Civic Hall in New York City, celebrating 35 years of progress at the intersection of people and technology.

He joined CTA Foundation Trustee Sally Lange for a fireside chat on AgeTech and how innovation can help aging adults live more independently.
The program also featured a keynote by disability activist Anastasia Somoza, who shared her experience as a member of the ADA generation and the role of technology in shaping futures.

We’re proud to keep showing up in spaces that drive forward accessibility and aging tech and look forward to what’s ahead. Let us know if you will be at upcoming events, we’d love to meet with you there.

The CTA Foundation worked hard all year to continue making the world more accessible and welcoming to older adults and people with disabilities.

In 2023, the Foundation awarded grants to 17 nonprofits and universities to support their efforts to solve accessibility and aging challenges. We were also able to add a new roundtable, hosted in Washington, DC during National Disability Employment month to advance the conversation on accessible employment. All of this work is thanks to the generosity of individual donors like you, and industry sponsors.

Your gift will join the collective generosity of all our donors to ensure 2024 sees continued gains in making this world more accessible for all. In addition to our existing programs, the Foundation plans to expand our efforts next year to include a Hackathon targeting accessible solutions for digital healthcare, and a unique partnership to deliver connection to at-risk senior communities using virtual reality.
