During the Seder—while we talk of freedom throughout—the food we eat is the salt water of tears, the charoset of cement, and the maror of the bitterness of slavery.
Even in our moments of happiness, we also remember pain and loss and the challenges we endured to get us to where we are. The Seder is designed this way to make us think about the responsibility of what being free really means.
True joy comes from fully inhabiting our experiences, no matter how tough.
Reflecting on our challenges , no matter how hard, enhances our gratitude for present blessings. we don’t diminish our happiness when we spend a day or a few weeks meditating on the challenges we went through in order to emerge even stronger . We become more grateful, holding on tightly to our blessed lives because we can.
May this holiday season bring the understanding and appreciation that all the challenges of life is a stepping stone for true Joy! And may you and your family only have true joy this holiday season and through out the year!
Blessings;
Marc

With an osteoporosis-related fracture occurring every three seconds worldwide – experts believe there’s an urgent need for women to understand their risk factors for the disease.3

UnderstandOP.com

Osteoporosis is a common disease among postmenopausal women and those who have it may suffer a fracture in their lifetime.4 Yet, the majority of those with osteoporosis do not know they have it. Often referred to as a “silent disease,” there are typically no symptoms of osteoporosis until a fracture occurs.5

Additionally, many postmenopausal women who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis do not fully understand the risks associated with it. A fracture is associated with serious consequences and can be a life altering event – and postmenopausal osteoporosis will get progressively worse if not treated.2,6 Meanwhile, research shows that many women decline treatment that can help reduce the risk of fracture.7

Osteoporosis is a chronic disease affecting 10 million U.S. adults.3,8 It occurs when an individual’s bone mineral density decreases, leading to a reduction in bone strength which can increase the risk of fractures, or broken bones.5 This is especially common in women because hormone changes associated with menopause can lead to a rapid reduction in bone density – putting them at risk for fracture.4

Kristi Tough DeSapri, M.D.— owner of Bone & Body Women’s Health, a midlife women’s health medical practice — will discuss the need for women to understand their risk factors for osteoporosis and find strategies to maintain bone strength and reduce the risk for falls and fractures.

Dr. Tough DeSapri will discuss the risk factors for osteoporosis as well as explain why, after menopause, women should take an osteoporosis diagnosis seriously – and how they can be proactive in reducing their risk of fractures.

FRANK PERDUE: ALL IN THE NAME OF CHARITY
Written by, Lorraine Cancro-Silvetz, MSW , Edited by Jim Luce

Many came from far and wide to hear Mrs. Frank Perdue or Mitzi, as she is known to so many, present her latest book on her late husband, Frank Perdue. Tough Man, Tender Chicken: Business & Life Lessons from Frank, which reached #6 on Amazon’s business biographies, brings the story of Frank’s business acumen to life through interviews with friends and foes who knew and worked with him. This is the story of how Frank Perdue built his small chicken and grain company into an international powerhouse that today employs 19,000 people and sells its products in more than 100 countries.

Quote from Sara Herbert Galloway

“I grew up eating Frank Perdue’s chicken as have my children and most of America. It is a pleasure to know Mitzi and learn more about Franks life. I am thrilled that she is sharing his and her story with the world.”

Tough Man, Tender Chicken: Business and Life Lessons from Frank Perdue Paperback – October 24, 2014
by Mitzi Perdue (Author)

After years of hard work and ensuing success, Mitzi Perdue offers unique and poignant insights to leaders and readers around the world through her biography of Frank Perdue, who revolutionized the chicken industry. Frank Perdue did chores as a child so young he needed two hands to hold a single egg. But from these humblest of beginnings, he built an empire that today spans the globe. Due to his intuitive sense of the market, there is hardly a person over the age of twenty-five who doesn’t know the tagline, “It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken.” Frank Perdue was an extremely thoughtful and thorough businessman. He studied every possible angle of business strategy, getting advice from every possible source, before making an important decision. This is his story, and also a personal story regarding the bond between Frank and Mitzi Perdue. A true case of love at first sight – they were engaged within 24 hours of their first date – and a remarkable partnership. The rich combination of Frank Perdue’s life and career and the lessons he imparts, along with Mitzi’s journalistic talents, allow this book to resonate on multiple levels – as a biography, as a business book, and as the tale of a one-of-a-kind American entrepreneur.
