Katya Concerts for Kids will extend a heartfelt invitation to more than 300 children from Harlem and the Bronx to attend the concert as her special guests.

Acclaimed pianist Katya Grineva will return to Carnegie Hall for her “A Classical Holiday” concert for one night only, Friday, December 26, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. Celebrating her 23rd Stern Auditorium appearance, Katya has performed at the venue more than any other female artist. In what has become a seasonal tradition for local New York City families and tourists alike, Katya’s festive concert is a highlight of the holiday season.

As part of her unwavering commitment to sharing the beauty of classical music with underserved youth, Katya’s non-profit organization, Katya Concerts for Kids, will extend a heartfelt invitation to more than 300 children from Harlem and the Bronx to attend the concert as her special guests. This inspiring initiative offers these young audiences not only the gift of world-class music but also the opportunity to dream bigger, experience the arts firsthand, and feel seen and valued within one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world.

Performing works from her holiday album A Classical Holiday, Katya showcases new arrangements of Christmas classics including The Nutcracker, My Favorite Things, and more. Drawn to spirituality and mysticism, Katya’s poetic style brings a different ethereal dimension to this holiday concert. This year’s program includes the mystical O choruscans lux stellarum by Von Bingen, Gershwin’s Embraceable You, the rarely played Liszt Legendes, and more.

About Katya Grineva

Born in Moscow, Katya began studying piano at the age of six, attending the Moscow Music School. She went on to the Moscow High School of Music under the aegis of the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, where she studied with Professor Pavel Messner. In New York, she was awarded a scholarship to immediately enter the Mannes School of Music graduate program, studying with Nina Svetlanova, followed by private coaching with Vladja Mashke, who played a key role in the young pianist’s development. Katya made her American debut in 1993 with the Baltimore Symphony. In 1998, she made her Carnegie Hall debut. In 2006, Katya was chosen to exclusively perform and record the world premieres of piano sonatas by romantic Viennese composer Marcel Tyberg. In 2023, she had the distinct honor of opening the new Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles, Washington.

Her philanthropic work garnered her accolades, including being the recipient of the Gusi Peace Prize from Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and Outstanding Women Award from Ercolano, Italy. She has been awarded the honorable title of Steinway Artist, a special honor from the New York State Shields, and recognition from the government of Guam for her special achievements. She has released nine CDs, the latest one being The Complete Chopin Nocturnes.

The city of Venice, ranked many times as the most beautiful city in the world.^[4]^[5] It is the primary tourist destination and the capital of Veneto

Veneto,^[a] officially the Region of Veneto,^[b] is one of the 20 regions of Italy, located in the north-east of the country. It is the fourth most populous region in Italy, with a population of 4,851,851 as of 2025.^[1] Venice is the region’s capital while Verona is the largest city.

Veneto was part of the Roman Empire until the 5th century AD. Later, after a feudal period, it was part of the Republic of Venice until 1797. Venice ruled for centuries over one of the largest and richest maritime republics and trade empires in the world. After the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna, the former Republic was combined with Lombardy and re-annexed to the Austrian Empire as the Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia, until that was merged with the Kingdom of Italy in 1866, as a result of the Third Italian War of Independence and of a plebiscite.

Besides Italian, most inhabitants also speak Venetian.^[8]^[9]^[10] Since 1971, the Statute of Veneto has referred to the region’s citizens as “the Venetian people”.^[11]^[12] Article 1 defines Veneto as an “autonomous Region”, “constituted by the Venetian people and the lands of the provinces of Belluno, Padua, Rovigo, Treviso, Venice, Verona and Vicenza”, while maintaining “bonds with Venetians in the world”. Article 2 sets forth the principle of the “self-government of the Venetian people” and mandates the Region to “promote the historical identity of the Venetian people and civilisation”. Despite these affirmations, approved by the Italian Parliament, Veneto is not among the autonomous regions with special statute, unlike its north-eastern and north-western neighbours, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol respectively.

Veneto is home to a notable nationalist movement, known as Venetian nationalism or Venetism. The region’s largest party is Liga Veneta, a founding component of Lega Nord. The current President of Veneto is Luca Zaia (Liga Veneta–Lega Nord), re-elected in 2020 with 76.8% of the vote. An autonomy referendum took place in 2017: 57.2% of Venetians turned out, 98.1% voting “yes” to “further forms and special conditions of autonomy”.

Having been for a long period in history a land of mass emigration, Veneto is today one of the greatest immigrant-receiving regions in the country, with 487,493 foreigners (9.9% of the regional population; January 2018), notably including Romanians (25.2%), Moroccans (9.3%), Chinese (7.1%), Moldovans (7.0%) and Albanians (6.9%).^[13]^[14]
