Read the Full Article HERE Religious Leaders Unite for Faith and Freedom On October 16, 2025, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), FFWPU-Capital Family Church, and ACLC hosted the “Peace Starts With Me Alliance” Religious Freedom Prayer Luncheon at The Washington Times building. Despite only a week’s notice, 40 faith and community leaders gathered to support religious liberty and interfaith solidarity, focusing on the detention of Mother Han, co-founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, and other Christian leaders in South Korea. Dr. Achile Acolatse, Southeast Region Director, called the gathering an urgent reminder to defend freedom of faith, while Dr. Michael Jenkins, UPF-North America President, highlighted Mother Han’s decades-long work promoting peace, dialogue, and humanitarian efforts. Leaders from Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism offered prayers, shared messages of solidarity, and coordinated special prayer services to advocate for justice and freedom. We wanted to let you know about a project that has consumed our time and attention for the past 18 months or so — really what we have been shaping through various iterations since the formation of UNITE. Our new project is The Dignity Index, and we are conducting a demonstration project of this tool in Utah right now.

The Dignity Index is an instrument designed to measure political and public speech — the language that we use and its power to unite or divide. We are hoping to help people understand the language that demonstrates contempt vs. the language that recognizes the dignity in others, and learn a better way to communicate through our differences.  You can take a quick look at the 8 point scale we are piloting on our website, and also see how we are applying this in Utah.

We can’t believe it’s almost here! The 6th annual Red Nose Day Special returns to NBC next Thursday, May 21 at 8/7c.

It all starts off at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a special episode of Celebrity Escape Room. You won’t want to miss the hilarious adventures our good friends Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Adam Scott get into to raise money for Red Nose Day.

And then at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the biggest names in entertainment come together (virtually) for The Red Nose Day Special. It’s going to be an inspiring evening of comedy, music, and storytelling.

WEEKEND-LONG REQUEST-A-THON AND ONLINE AUCTION WILL ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

Radio Woodstock 100.1 (WDST, 106.5FM in Beacon) is proud to announce its 16^th annual Pink October Fundraiser the weekend of October 24-26, 2014. The benefit supports breast cancer research at the Dyson Center for Cancer Care at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.  Funds will be raised with a weekend-long Request-A-Thon, an online auction, and a benefit concert.

The benefit concert will spotlight 3 emerging artists from the Hudson Valley breaking on the national scene:  Swear & Shake, Elijah & The Moon and Connor Kennedy. The artists, all of whom have played at Radio Woodstock’s nationally renowned Mountain Jam Music Festival, will be performing at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY on Tuesday October 21st, 2014. “We are engaging our local community to fight breast cancer, so we thought it appropriate to engage our local artists to come together for this worthy cause as well” said Radio Woodstock President and principal owner Gary Chetkof.

“The Falcon is honored to co-host and partner with Radio Woodstock for their Pink October breast cancer benefit. We encourage our always supportive audience to put their best foot forward for this cause and to thoroughly enjoy the foot-stomping indie-folk of Swear & Shake, Connor Kennedy & Elijah and the Moon”, said Fren Franke. For the annual Pink October Request-A-Thon, Radio Woodstock 100.1’s programming will be turned over to its loyal listeners from Friday, October 24th, through Sunday, October 26th. The station will accept song requests in exchange for donations of $25 or more. Donations of $50 or more will also be rewarded with a limited edition Pink October 2014 T-Shirt and a digital download card featuring some of Radio Woodstock’s favorite artists.

Throughout the month of October, Radio Woodstock 100.1 will auction off memorabilia, concert tickets, and other unique items and services to raise money for the cause. Bids will be accepted online at RadioWoodstock.com.

“In the past four years Radio Woodstock has raised over $300,000 dollars for the Dyson Center for Cancer Research. The outpouring of support has been truly amazing as our listeners and sponsors come together for a cause that affects all of us. The request-a-thon in particular creates a weekend of true community-oriented programming as people’s stories and song requests bring joy as well as tears. We ask everyone to join in our fundraising efforts and make 2014 our best year ever” Chetkof said. Last year, Radio Woodstock’s raised over $60,000 for the Dyson Center.
