Longer and lower than the model it replaces, the all-new LS debuts a strikingly sleek and bold design with a coupe-like silhouette punctuated by the unique Lexus design language.
For high power, scintillating performance and excellent fuel efficiency, Lexus designed an all-new 60-degree 3.5-liter V6 engine specifically for the new LS. This new LS engine is indicative of the more dynamic approach being taken by Lexus, offering V8-level power in a more compact package with efficiency and refinement.
The Lexus safety features focus on analyzing and optimizing safety technologies for four main causes of traffic fatalities: accidents related to pedestrians, vehicle departures from roads, intersections, and rear-end collisions.
On cars equipped with Lexus Safety System+ A, PCS detects a pedestrian and vehicles ahead using millimeter-wave radar and a stereo camera, supporting collision prevention and damage mitigation with an alert, pre-collision brake assist and pre-collision braking. The PCS can detect a pedestrian and has improved deceleration performance during automatic braking. For example, it can decelerate the vehicle by about 37 mph, thus improving its collision-prevention performance.
The serenity of the LS cabin provides an ideal stage for the standard premium audio system or the new audiophile-worthy available 3D surround Mark Levinson QLI Reference Surround Sound System. Employing Quantum Logic Immersion technology (QLI), Clari-Fi music restoration technology and 23 speakers in 16 locations throughout the car (including the rear ceiling), and a 16-channel Mark Levinson Reference Amplifier producing the equivalent of 2400 watts with 0.05 percent Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) it offers an audio experience unparalleled in any Lexus.

AMERICANS REALLY “GET” VIRTUAL REALITY

A national study, conducted by Frank N. Magid Associates, will be released at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas starting January 4. The study clearly shows that VR has the attention of a large part of the American public. A majority of consumers (56%) who play any type of game (70% of the U.S.), aged 8-64, have heard of virtual reality.

While many companies are coming out with VR devices, some are better known than others. Among those VR devices, American gamers are aware the Oculus Rift at 25%, Samsung VR Gear at 21%, PlayStation VR at 20%, and Google Cardboard at 17%.

A quarter (24%) of the gamer respondents in this survey said they were “very interested” in “Virtual Reality Experience in the home.” A similarly sized group at 23% said they were “interested” in VR. So 47% of the respondents are very interested or interested in VR . This is a large population of Americans with strong positive interest in VR.

Among those interested in VR the number one type of content desired in VR was movies and TV (66%), followed by console/PC gaming (59%), music videos (41%), travel (39%), and sports (38%). When Facebook bought Oculus it was suggested VR would become a new platform for social networking. Many Americans (34%) interested in VR believe that social networking will be an important application for VR.

Mike Vorhaus, President of Magid Advisors, who released the data at the Consumer Electronics Show said, “In these super early days of Virtual Reality, it is certain that many American consumers are primed to try this new technology/media platform. I was impressed by the strong interest shown by consumers in not just gaming, but also many mainstream content areas.”
