An Industry legend, Bill Plympton is known as the King of Indie Animation and was the first person to hand-draw an entire animated feature film. Bill has created animation master classes in around the world. New York,1968, Bill launched his career creating cartoons for name publications, The New York Times, National Lampoon, Playboy and Screw. Bill is famous for his Dog Shorts Series. In 2005 he received an Academy Award nomination for his Short Animation “Guard Dog”. Others in this series include, Guide Dog, Hot Dog, Horn Dog and Cop Dog. He has won over 100 awards for his films.
As of 2018 Plympton had created over 60 animated short films and six animated features. Bill has self-published three collections of his comic strips, in addition to “The Sleazy Cartoons of Bill Plympton”, he also self-published “Sloppy Seconds” and “We Eat Tonight”. Prior to that, other companies published his cartoons in collections called “Tube Strips”, “Medium Rare” and “Polls Apart: How to Tell A Democrat from a Republican” “Through the Wire” by Kanye West, “Make Toons that Sell Without Selling Out” published by Focal Press. “Independently Animated” Bill Plympton, Rizzoli Press.
Bill has collaborated on a number of films, music videos and book projects with amongst others, Jackie Green, Madonna, Kanye West, Weird Al Yankovic and Jim Lujan.
JIM LUJAN co-created “Revengeance” with Bill,working on the story, designs, script, music and had voiced many of the characters. Jim is anunderground animation veteran whose films include, “Freakdaddy”, “Unchained Fists”, “Mama I’m a Thug” and made for the Titmouse/6 Point Harness Rugburn Channel, “Sanjourno Must Die”. His animation has appeared at Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival, Adult Swim. Jim creates the art, animation, music and voice-overs for his own shorts and feature films.
