THE GIVER- THIS IS A POWERFUL MOVIE ON WORLD PEACE, TODAY AND THE FUTURE. DON'T MISS IT.
The Giver. As I watched the Press Conference in awe for this outstanding movie team, I was fascinated with the author of the book Lois Lowry and the screenwriters Michael Mitnick and Robert B. Weide. How did they weave her book to make you realize how stupid war is; How Deceitful the Elders (the political leaders) could become and how wonderfully innocent and intuitive our youth are?
The result of this books screen adaption, which is drenched in "the light and the darkness of life" (As suggested by Marcello Padilla, Good News Film Producer), is that our youth SAVE US from OURSELVES, THE GROWN UPS. They see the brighter tomorrow and have the strength to make changes..BRAVO…to … [Continue reading...]

LET'S START WITH THE HUMANITARIAN PEACE CEASE FIRE IN GAZA EMAIL THAT GOOD NEWS RECEIVED TODAY 7/31/14 FROM THE WHITE HOUSE.
Statement by the Press Secretary on the Humanitarian Ceasefire Announcement in Gaza
The United States strongly supports the humanitarian ceasefire announced in Gaza this evening. We urge all parties to act with restraint until this humanitarian ceasefire begins at 8:00 a.m. local time on Friday, August 1, 2014, and to fully abide by their commitments.

Dr. Grandin didn't talk until she was three and a half years old, communicating her frustration instead by screaming, peeping, and humming. In 1950, she was diagnosed with autism and her parents were told she should be institutionalized. She tells her story of "groping her way from the far side of darkness" in her book Emergence: Labeled Autistic, a book which stunned the world because, until its publication, most professionals and parents assumed that an autism diagnosis was virtually a death sentence to achievement or productivity in life.
Dr. Grandin has become a prominent author and speaker on the subject of autism because "I have read enough to know that there are still many parents, and yes, professionals too, who believe that 'once autistic, always autistic.' This dictum has … [Continue reading...]

Picture a young surfer dude wandering around a dock lined with charter boats. A grizzled old captain yells out, "Hey, kid, you want a job ?" That was exactly how Captain Mike Vegessi got his start in Montauk fishing in 1977. He had never been fishing before and was drawn to Montauk for the surfing, not the surf casting. The grizzled old captain was Doug McCabe of the "FRANCES ANNE", nearing the end of his career as one of Montauk's offshore pioneers, and Mike would be his mate for the next three years. In addition to learning the fishing business, Doug, who also owned a diesel parts business catering to the fishing boats in Montauk, taught Mike all he needed to know about the maintenance of diesel powered boats.
Doug retired in 1979, and the next year Mike went to work as a mate for … [Continue reading...]
