On September 21st, 12 noon est we would like everyone to join us for 10 minutes of silence to Pause For Peace. We are celebrating the International Day of Peace, as declared by all the countries of the United Nations. The resolution asks people to do Practical Acts of Peace; hug a fellow man/woman, forgive a person, make love not war, drop your guns. Our nonprofit, Good News Corporation, 501 C 3 will commemorate this day of Peace by creating and hosting a Peace Day Party for Peaceful People of the World. PeaceDayParty.org.
About International Day of Peace, September 21, 2013
The International Day of Peace provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982. In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace. During the discussion of the U.N. Resolution that established the International Day of Peace, it was stated that Peace Day is to remind us that: “…our permanent commitment, above all interests or differences of any kind, is to peace.” In Peace, Paul Sladkus, CEO, Founder Good News Motto is…All we are is what we are with each other.
Our Major Event will feature peaceful video feeds from around the world. We are inviting Presidents of countries, World Religious and Service Leaders, Dignitaries from varied fields, and Celebrities. Entertainers will perform and lead their original hits to a sing a long group on stage with them and for the world to sing a long.
Important Note: We still seek a Title Sponsor (Our total budget is $4.841 million and we have smaller sponsorship amounts. All money will go to this event. Production and Financial information available). You can help our efforts though nonprofit donations at: Sponsorship includes a major outreach with hundreds of people working to help the world become part of this event.
SHOW WILL GO ON: Regardless if we raise the necessary funds, we will still reach out to the world to promote Practical Acts of Peace, Global Truce and create more of a VIRTUAL PEACE DAY PARTY with world feeds that will include: Susana Bastarrica’s Vigil For International Peace and Ecology in Central Park Band Shell, NYC, which we have been hosting and broadcasting for 11 years. TIMES SQUARE, NYC, DUFFY PARK AND SOME TIMES SQUARE BILLBOARDS where we will conduct our Pause for Peace Moment of Silence. Additionally, we have our two studios in Brooklyn where we will be producing segments for the Peace Day Party Virtual Broadcast. Some might know that we originally planned to do our event in the Great Lawn in Central Park, NYC, but I have postponed that for next year.
This show must go on for our future generations. There will also be hundreds of events worldwide to honor this day and that is Good News.
You also can help by getting your community, city and yourself to become part of the World Peace Day Party Event.
