#14. Nzinga Knight (United States) is an American Muslim evening wear designer who presented her collection during New York Fashion Week 2012.
Nur Jahan
Nur Jahan designed the Moghul gardens of Kashmir and Agra using a Persian-inspired garden layout. She also spearheaded the construction of her father’s mausoleum in Agra, where she popularized a marble technique that was used pervasively in the design of the Taj Mahal.
Along with her love for design and architecture, Nur encouraged women of the court to write and share their poetries. She is also the aunt of Mumtaz Mahal (the inspiration for the Taj Mahal).

Nzinga Knight
Nzinga Knight is an evening wear designer based out of New York. Her line, “Nzinga Knight”, launched in 2008. She is the recipient of the Council of Fashion Designers of America Award and has worked with Marc Jacobs, ThreeAsFour, Reva Mivasager and Jones NY.
She aims to create stylish clothing for women like herself- “Women with attitude, style and confidence.” She describes her look as sensual and mysterious. Knight’s designs are for women who seek fashionable clothing that are also modest and exquisite.
