Hosted by Adrian Grenier and Jessica Stam One In Six People On The Planet Dont Have Access To Safe, Clean Drinking Water charity: water New York, NY (November 2008) Adrian Grenier and Jessica Stam will host the 3rd annual charity: ball to benefit charity: water on December 15, beginning at 7PM at Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street (between 6th & 7th Avenues). An intimate VIP reception with both hosts and charity: water founder Scott Harrison will precede the main event, which includes a silent and live auction, a special performance by singer/songwriter Amos Lee and surprise guest performers. Last years charity: ball included a performance by Cat Power and surprise guest Chaka Khan and was attended by supporters Jennifer Missoni, Issac Mizrahi, Michael Pitt, Elettra Wiedemann, Terry George, Ashleigh Verrier, Damien Fahey, and Summer Rayne Oakes, among others. This years Honorable Guest Host committee includes Lauren Bush, Matthew Modine, Katie Lee Joel, Lydia Hearst, Bar Rafaelli, Nigel Barker, Angie Everhart, Kristy Hinze, Terry George, Fern Mallis, Andrew Saffir, Catt Sadler and Byrdie Bell. charity: water is a nonprofit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. In its third year, charity: ball continues with the goal to raise awareness and funds to help the more than 1 billion people in the world who do not have access to safe drinking water. In two years, charity: water has raised over $7 million and funded 1,030 water projects in Uganda, Malawi, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Liberia, Tanzania, India, Bangladesh, and Honduras. When completed, they will serve more than 500,000 people with clean, safe water for 20 years! charity: ball plans to raise funds by offering its symbolic $20 water bottles, as well as guest participation in the simulated waterwalk which will be matched by a private donor at the event. Donors can also sponsor a freshwater well complete with project progress and GPS coordinates plotted on GoogleEarth. Other event activities include live and silent auctions, with 100% of all funds raised to go directly towards building freshwater wells in developing nations.
