Everyday Players a Chance to Win $1 Million
Last year, retired NYC police officer and decorated 9-11 First Responder Mike Kosowski turned a hobby into a better life for him and his family when he visited PokerStars.net and was selected to compete against celebrities and poker pros, including champion, Daniel Negreanu on the reality show, POKERSTARS.NET MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE. Kosowski propelled through the challenge and ultimately earned the grand prize of $1 million.
With the show preparing to return for its second season on Sunday, September 19, 2010, amateur finalists are preparing to square off against both celebrities and poker pros in the hopes of following in Kosowskis golden footsteps. Celebrity contestants include: Dancing with the Stars Brooke Burke, Football Hall of Famer and Quarterback John Elway, NBA great Gary Payton, NFL Hall of Famer and rushing icon Barry Sanders, and the 2007 Playmate of the Year, Sara Jean Underwood.
After taking on the celebrities, advancing players will then face a team of PokerStars.net Pros. If the amateur contestant wins, he or she will test their skills against Poker Legend and Team PokerStars.net Pro Daniel Negreanu for the chance to win one million dollars!
The amateur contestants road to the Million Dollar Challenge began at PokerStars.net where they played in a series of daily free rolls. The top 20 contenders then submitted a video of themselves showing why they have the skills to be a formidable opponent for the PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge.
PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge will air nationally on seven Sundays following NFL football games. Last years winner Mike Kosowski and Poker Legend Daniel Negreanu can answer poker and the secrets to winning the Million Dollar Challenge. CHALLENGE
