Helping the men and women who have served this country, one computer at a time
FundaGeek LLC is pleased to announce a new project for Tech For Vets, the non-profit that supplies computers to our severely wounded Veterans and Veterans organizations.
The founders, Jason Rorie and Gary Moore, both served in the US Navy. Their newly-formed organization’s mission is to provide military veterans with new or refurbished computers. They are dedicated to helping veterans find a better life through technology.
Last month Ellen Ratner of Talk Radio News generously donated 12 iPads to Tech For Vets with the purpose of supplying them to injured Veterans. Coordinating with Tim Horton of the Wounded Warrior Project office in San Antonio, Texas, the iPads were delivered to the recipient Veterans on April 20th. We applaud Ellen Ratner for her generosity and support of Tech For Vets.
Director of the Tech For Vets program, Jason Rorie, says, “Helping the men and women who have served this country is such a worthwhile venture. Their gratitude speaks volumes as to who they are.”
Computers serve an important role in everyday life. A computer provides the opportunity for a Veteran to job hunt or find a place to live and is a necessary tool if the Veteran has plans to go back to school. Tech For Vets wants to provide Veterans, especially those who have been wounded, who are in homeless shelters or jobless, with an opportunity to begin their search for a brighter future.
Tech For Vets will use the funds raised from their successful FundaGeek campaign to pay for repair parts, to purchase refurbished laptop and desktop systems, and to ship them where they are needed.
